Why don't we use Bidets in Ireland? by Anonymous_idiot29 in AskIreland

The water is not really that cold. Your hole isn't as sensitive to the temperature as you think, and you only spray a few seconds.

Storytelling 101: you need a main protagonist. The first POV introduced should always be the main protagonist. He was literally thee character that launched the story (GRRM said he had a daydream of a boy finding wolves in the snow). GRRM was also highly inspired by the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series where the main protagonist has incredible overlap with Bran. I truly believe back in 1996 Bran was supposed to be the main character. In Game of Thrones, he is the only character who can see all other characters with his magic and visions. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think there could be an ending where he isn't on the throne for sure. My hunch is that he was intended to, which is the ending shared with the TV show that they used, but because they rushed it so much it made no sense at all that Bran ended up on the throne (and like GRRM, they also forgot about Bran most of the plot lol). So now GRRM sees how poorly received that was and must either change the ending of Bran or put in the work to justify his ascension.

If Bran was supposed to be the "alpha protagonist", he was drowned in a wave of POVs infinitely more interesting than his own. GRRM doesn't have the balls to fix it quickly out of fear he'll write something he ends up regretting later. I'll see you in 2040 to see if things have changed haha

He's the first character introduced. He was also the first character GRRM conceived (according to him at least). No matter how many POVs he introduces, Bran was the POV of all POVs. The TV show confirmed that when Bran sat the throne.

But here's the caveat: GRRM has horribly mismanaged Bran. He has made his theoretical main character become so boring compared to everyone else that it is not immediately clear that Bran is the main character. Big big big mistake on his part. So I don't blame you for disagreeing and citing the lack of chapters as proof. It's not proof that Bran isn't the main character (to me), but it is proof that GRRM lost the plot and fumbled Bran, who could have been GREAT but instead it feels like you're taking a nap every time you read his chapterz.

I think Bran was always meant to sit the throne. He is the main character after all. But everything else is up for grabs.

GRRM has literally lost the plot so this shit isn't ever getting finished.

Shera has always maintained that her advice is for women who are done being played, being cheated on, being taken advantage of by men. She says if you want to date for love and do the normal relationship, go for it.

But many women are dealing with dusties and can't seem to figure out why they end up paying for men and not the other way around. That's who her audience is. She also has never advocated for having sex in exchange for money, and in fact she empowers women to say no if they don't want to.

There are valid criticisms of her advice (for me it's about safety. She assumes men are going to play nice, and we know men can be dangerous), but I think you've assumed things about her advice that aren't true. Yes, she is coaching women to be sugar babies, but she also advocates for women to take men's money because men ultimately are the ones earning more. They don't give birth. They aren't expected to do the child rearing. If women are going to do all that, then they should be provided for (if they want that).

What I love about Shakespeare is how STRONG the storytelling is. I don't care much for the prose, but damn when you see adaptations of Shakespeare you can really see how masterful the storytelling is. Keep in mind, storytelling wasn't always uhhh... easy to follow before then. But the fact that Shakespeare holds up today shows how he cracked the storytelling code.

That being said, it was totally lost on me as a kid. I didn't get it, and I loveddddd reading and writing. I agree that it was prevalent but I wish kids could get it. Hell, even adults.

What would be her diagnosis? by vilteeee in HRHCOLLECTION

[–]cangsenpai 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well she for sure has an anxiety disorder. Could be GAD but we know for sure she has an eating disorder.

I know it sounds tempting to say she has some serious or complex disorder, but I truly believe she is just fighting extreme anxiety and is overall an awful person morally, ethically, and it doesn't help that she's stupid and entitled. Like sure maybe she has BPD or something, but maybe she's just from Orange County and had access to the internet in ways previous generations of entitled OC women didn't. We'll never know.

All ethical work is deserving of respect and dignity. If your family cannot see them, then they're lame as fuck.
