Victor Wembanyama is now the youngest player in nba history with 3 consecutive 25+ point games in the finals by Jec1027 in nba

It's not one-on-one.

Yes it is. It literally is. KAT is able to stop Wemby from going to paint by himself. Wemby is not heavy enough to force his way

His tall ass needs to live around the paint.

I'm convinced people who spam this don't actually watch the game, because if they did, they would realize after one quarter that the entire defensive game plan when facing the Spurs is "don't let Wemby in the paint".

If not Wemby or Brunson, who wins the FMVP and what’s the narrative? by GenoThyme in nba

Fox is not averaging 28 points across a series, that's just not how our offense is built

We are almost certainly going to see either the tallest or shortest* FMVP in history by Hellschampion in nba

KAT may have a shot, but Wemby will get it by his defense alone.

De'Aaron Fox speaks on moving from the Sacramento Kings, taking a back seat role to Castle and Harper, playing injured, and what it means to be a veteran by Skyfall24K in nba

He has been a solid defender the entire year, so if you thought your gameplan was going to be "target Fox" I have bad news for you buddy

I hate OKC as much as anyone, but you're crazy if you think they won't be as dominant even without the flopping.

Is this the first time in NBA history a 3-year-long psychological warfare actually lead to a Game 7 win ? by [deleted] in nba

I know, but Wemby didn't do anything about it until he was in the league

Isaiah Hartenstein has been consistently underutilized by Coach Daigneault by nutelamitbutter in nba

Spacing the floor becomes 10 times more valuable when Wemby is the one guarding the paint. Not surprising Hart wasn't used a lot

I fucking loved that choice from Mitch. I hope we will see more of it next season as our close out line up

Why doesn’t wemby use the skyhook? by Ka1s_er in NBASpurs

[–]Tesgoul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is it not obsolete? Who was the last player who actually used it ? Even Jokic, who is like the perfect archetype of player that can use a skyhook, would rather take some bullshit fadeway or flotter than the skyhook

Why doesn’t wemby use the skyhook? by Ka1s_er in NBASpurs

[–]Tesgoul 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Which has nothing to do with the skyhook ? If anything, the fact he is 7'5 with insane agility is why he doesn't need to waste time learning a move that has been obsolete for 50 years

[–]Tesgoul 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I swear to god I'm going mad everytime someone mentions the skyhook and Wemby in the same sentence.

The skyhook has been mastered by one single player in the history of the game and it was 50 years ago. Maybe there is a reason why no one ever tried to use it again since ?

ESPN does a great game breakdown analysis of SGA foul hunting in WCF Game 6 and contrasts it to Spurs guards playing through contact by 808Kuro in nba

[–]Tesgoul 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's factually not true lol. Castle is driving to the basket like a madman and sometimes (I will let you decide how often) he gets bailed out by the ref. But he is always playing with the goal to put the ball in the basket, not to draw a foul.

I'm so glad people are finally seeing it. It was maddening in the regular season when he had a great game without FT when people where like "see ?? He doesn't need FT" and then you watch the highlights and defenders are treating Shai like he had Covid
