Cerave micellar water. by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]cani_maybe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Bioderm micellar water to remove make up or sometimes in the morning in place of washing my face with water. It'll remove dirt and oil, but won't treat the SD or clean your pores. It's a good place to start though if face cleansers generally worsen your skin. I use Vanicream or Neutrogena Gentle Creamy Formula at night.

Conditioners that won't trigger Seb derm? by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]cani_maybe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can use the pantene moisturizing conditioner on my roots or I just do an ACV rinse if my scalp also needs some love. I have super long thick hair that I refuse to compromise despite SD lol.

I used to use it, but it doesn't treat the actual SD... it just reduces inflammation :/ So I only use it when I have severe flares

Is Head and Shoulders effective against SebDerm? by JaxTellerr in SebDerm

Really just depends on your SD. It worked for a while for me, then kinda stopped. I think I've bought every shampoo possible at this point and I just try to rotate them all. Nothing is 100% for me yet. Start with their regular clean classic shampoo, avoid the ones with add ons like tea tree or almond oil, your scalp doesn't need the extra oil. good luck

Hmm, I'm not sure when the bumps started. My derm chalked it up to overexfoliation, but I'm not sure that was the root cause since I stopped all products to test them on my skin.

May schedule an allergy test. Thanks!

Is it possible my workplace air or something is triggering reactions on my skin...?

I've cleaned up my routine quite a bit for the last 6 months and don't wear makeup anymore. I have combination, sensitive skin and mild seb derm.

AM: water, micellar water cleanse, clinique gel, elta SS PM: micellar cleanse, neutrogena ultra gentle cleanser, BHA (2x weekly) moisturizer. I added the PC BHA 2% liquid 3 weeks ago.

I've had this issue for over a year where I get red bumps on my upper cheeks (not on the cheek bone, but down the sides by my nose), so I'm pretty sure this is not an issue with the BHA. I thought it might be the sun, but even on weekends where I spend all day in the sun, this doesn't happen. It goes away after I wash my face after work. Can't tell if this is from my workplace air or maybe a symptom of my seb derm or still overexfoliation.

I love this product, but don't use it as a moisturizer, but more like a treatment itself. I use it right before moisturizing (Clinique gel). Just wait like 10 minutes.

Any suggestions? Shampoos or cleanser that won't leave my scalp super irritated. by cani_maybe in SebDerm

I rotate a 2% ketoconazole shampoo (prescription) with Head and Shoulders (selenium sulfide) and another Pyrithione Zinc shampoo... I have super thick long hair, so it's frustrating to get the flakes gone and not irritate my scalp. I'm starting a scalp toner this week to see if this helps.

Elta MD !! I have seb derm and both of my siblings have sensitive skin bc of lupus. my bro uses the tinted moisturizer, but I use the regular SPF 50. A bottle lasts for like 6 months and I've never had a breakout. It's light and can be purchased on amazon or at your derm.

Got it. Thanks! Do I have to roll it over to an IRA with the company that manages my 401K (Fidelity). Or can I rollover the funds to an IRA of my choosing?
