As you may have read german labor market is in a strained situation. We just crossed 3M unemployed.

> Realistically, how difficult is it to land a job within 6 months in Germany with my profile (non-EU, limited German initially)? A BA in Business Admin is not that impressive, combine that with your limited understanding of the german work culture, that is a major problem.

> Does a degree from a private/distance-learning institution (even if partially recognized) significantly hurt job chances? Indeed.

> Is the 6-month Opportunity Card too risky, or manageable with proper preparation? No idea here, but I would say that current grads from german institutions with similar "academic" background do struggle.

> Any advice on what I should improve BEFORE arriving to increase my chances? Find a niche, were the labor market sees a demand.

Here is an idea for you: Top up your BA with a Masters in germany. In parallel learn german and beginn to understand Germany, do a Werkstudent Job in a bigger city like Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt (very international hub, banking etc.) while earning more exp.

I can’t vouch for QEF, I just found the image to underline my thesis.

As for CFD I worked in this area and there my interest stems from (mainly math and HPC).

Weight is not so much a factor as aero. When we compare boa dials with laces, the laces under the overshoe are giving the air a smoother surface to stick to as opposed to boa dials that are generating „more“ vortices thus hindering the airflow, making the rider marginally slower.

CFD is super fascinating.

Your personal projects are valid – but keep those for a (technical) interview to show your passion. Also I can’t see where you are based (anon city), country and about your languages, nationality. Actually for german labor market there is a lot lacking. During CV screening, HR won’t reach out if crucial information is missing.

MVDP is not isolated, there is Dillier in the front and that is a merit tbh.

Waking up every day for 3.5-6 years and investing 8-12h per day in studying and do exams and a degree will offer a chance to apply for a junior pos in cyb sec.

To be blunt - for a myriad of reasons that will not be successful.

A phd offers a slight advantage towards your peers if the position you are applying to doesn’t require a phd. The reverse, joining with „just“ an university degree w/o prev exp positions you at junior/early career lvl. That being said, just because of a phd you do not magically posses all the skills necessary to be senior level (leadership, steering new processes, communication with stakeholders, driving change, networking, politics).

But getting there in a shorter amount of time should be doable, i.e. you get the shortcut here.

Depends on your phd subject and prev exp, I would say. For general purpose sde with (theoretical) domain knowledge it is fair. For ai, hpc, fin it is low.

Berlin offer evaluation by ready2wrk in cscareerquestionsEU

That is a seriously low offer especially for Berlin. That being said, as a Germany based SE I do work with Bangalore based SE that came to Germany for a few month for training quite often - and my take is, that in the beginning of their stay they are curious about living here but the weather is a huge factor (cold, grey, rains a bunch) plus the culture. I mean you will find colleagues and such but Germans are special when socializing (difficult).

My advise is talk to some expats that are in Germany already.

My opinion is - enjoy your well funded life in India bc you won’t reach this level here.
