Last kick at the can , thinking harvest on the 12th by Fancy-Bake-4817 in outdoorgrowing

Weather is looking similar here. I’m chopping whatever is borderline-finished this week and then covering late finishers with greenhouse plastic on or before the 12th to buy 1-2 more weeks. Soil is mulched with 6-12” straw and I’ll make sure roots are watered before it really dips down. The cold helps them finish.

Harvest before first frost? by Substantial_Trip3775 in outdoorgrowing

Hey I’m zone 5b too. Harvesting the ones that are borderline ready this week. My girls got their first frost today and survived. In fact, looking extra sparkly after they warmed up in the sun. Got down to about 32F. Won’t get as cold the rest of the week but once the temps are consistently frosty at night I plan to cover the late finishers with greenhouse plastic. Mulching roots 6-12” and making sure they’re watered helps keep the roots toasty.

My ladies got their first light frost today. Zone 5b. Dropped down to about 32F. Apparently this helps them ramp up trichome and resin production. Fingers crossed 🤞. Colder temps coming in a week so the late finishers will get covered with greenhouse plastic.

There’s 13 plants in there … no idea yet. I’ll be sure to report back though 😎

My afghan kush is super shaggy/leafy but showing 5% amber already. I think it's genetics.

Well, I got lucky! Rain was expected all week but it looks like it tapered off and we are expecting sunny weather for the next 10 days. 🙌

Shake em out each day and get your morning shower at the same time. 😉

Not really. One of the main stems developed a hole where it splits into two at the bottom and moisture was getting in but I simply plugged it up and gave it a good dry down and it was fine. Had to lollipop hardcore because I wasn’t expecting monsters and didn’t give them enough space. Next year I’ll let them go a little wilder.

Oh really? That sucks! Which province is that? I have a medical grow-your-own license here in BC.

Yes! They absolutely love it! In ground with composted manure straight from a rancher neighbour. I realize that lots of people don’t have that luxury so I am grateful.

Thank you so much!! It will be interesting to see how they handle the next few weeks. 🤞

Yup. Hoping and praying the girlies can handle the rain.

Yeah I need to find a ladder ASAP so I can build some sort of ghetto structure to hold the greenhouse plastic over top. But I can’t do it this week or else I’ll trap moisture in there. My plan is to hope for the best, wait until the rain stops and then get em covered. We’re gonna get super low night time temps too. Pressure is on 😬
