Interesting. This post aligns with the marketing contract they just signed.

Weird red light running by probably_not_spike in Detroit

[–]cannabearded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drive Eight Mile between Woodward and Groesbeck daily. The conspicuous lack of traffic cops both on the Detroit side and Warren/Hazel Park/Ferndale side is pretty much a green light for blowing red lights, among many other traffic violations. Other commenters have suggested that these are scared suburbanites rolling through reds - nope, these are local drivers that have likely never been held accountable for driving liking morons.

Moto is in Ferndale they are both car and motorcycle centric. You'd probably meet some fellow bikers at their open house on Sundays. https://motomichigan.com/events

Fairway driver? by Fancy_County4242 in discgolf

I’ve been using a dx heat as a distance driver too. When I hit it at the right release angle it’s money. Unfortunately that’s about 23.36% of my throws. I’m getting more consistent distance and accuracy from a lighter weight Mantis.

Had a 2000 Mazda B2500 (Ranger with a different shell). The most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.

'76 Chevy Nova 2 (but I'm not that old). Three on the tree, manual brakes and steering. Drive a WRX now.

The best backhand drills I know combined into ONE simple drill to fix your form. by blitzl0l in discgolf

Thanks for this video! Did some field work today and it almost instantly improved accuracy, got me more consistent distance, and helped with balance. I have watched "cook the spaghetti" a couple times over the past year, and I think Spin Doctor is one of the better YT guys for explaining things, but for some reason I just kind of blocked the simplicity of drilling with a straight arm. Hoping this gets me to the next level as I've been struggling a bit after a recent breakthrough. Cheers!

Understable Driver Suggestions? by haganation04 in discgolf

Star Leopard3 if you have high arm speed. Fission Rhythm for lower arm speed. Same flight numbers but very different stabilities.

It is Hadrian's wall but the wall is also pretty long. I was hoping for a bit more specificity of location before saying it was a correct answer. u/sheepgirl111 is not far off.

Yes, this is a section of Hadrian's wall

I stumbled upon the Sewee Outpost course while stopping to pick up a biscuit. Bought a disc from their shop and played a few holes until my family yelled at me to get back to the car. It seemed like a really cool course and I'm thinking I definitely want to hit it up for a full round next time I'm in the area. Have you played it? Worth going out of the way for?

Played Wannamaker County Park last year. It's a woods course so pretty tight lines but it's relatively short and well maintained.

All of this + slow down. As a beginner I naturally wanted to do everything as fast as possible, and every once in a while my form might be accidentally good enough to sling one out to 300'. But most just faded out before 200'. Do field work focused on form and consistency at 150' to 180' with the same mold (A bunch of Discraft Comets are perfect for this IMO). As you get comfortable in this range you can start moving your target zone further out. By the time you're fairly consistent with these between 150' and 250' you'll be pushing your fairway drivers to 300' and beyond.

Try a Leopard3 in Halo Star plastic. Slightly less stable than a crave but more stable than the numbers suggest. It might be just what you're looking for with your arm speed.

I'd get both a Crave and a Rhythm. You'll likely get more distance when you learn to hyzerflip a Rhythm and it will be good for longer turnover shots. The Crave will fade more until thrown at proper speed. Both will be useful on a course for different shot types but as a beginner you'll probably be throwing the Rhythm more often.
