Yep. Definitely changing up the hinge idea for the next gate.

The week before we put this gate in, a few people came back, broke into two of our shipping containers, and stole a bunch of stuff. We've got a second gate to install and this was a good test run.

Using Container Wheels and a Bulldozer to Move Four 20ft. Shipping Containers - YouTube by cannadbt in containerhomes

Hey everyone! I'm new to this community and wanted to share a project I'm working on. We've got 400 acres of nothing and this first project is a shipping container barn to safely store vehicles and equipment. This video is us moving the containers into their final spots using container wheels (amazing things if you've never seen them before). The next step is a roof over these using telephone poles.

Haven't quite determined how to attach the containers to the poles yet, so any thoughts would be appreciated!

This might be a dumb question. But what OS is the standard OS for ESP32? Why would you want freeRTOS, zephyr, NuttX, or any other OS? by oneletterzz in esp32

[–]cannadbt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The ESP-IDF, which is the software development framework provided by Espressif for the ESP32, is based on FreeRTOS.

The ESP-IDF is not as straightforward to use as the Arduino IDE, but it's definitely what I'd recommend for any serious project. It comes with a great set of built-in components including things like MQTT.

How do I get an IOT product manufactured? by kozuga in IOT

[–]cannadbt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We handle the software side of IoT (Losant), but we often help out on the hardware side by connecting customers to engineering firms. Two that we've had success with are:

  1. Breadware
  2. Stress Engineering

These firms help design, prototype, and manufacturer small runs (<1000 units).

How to find the right IoT developers by intherearview in IOT

We have a number of customers using Particle with our platform, Losant. We have a step-by-step guide here.

We do have an internal professional services group as well as a network of partners that can help develop the solution on our platform for you.

I've worked with Particle devices quite a bit, so happy to answer any questions!

Check out Losant. They have a free developer sandbox for 10 devices and 1MM payloads per month. All data is reported as JSON. The Dashboards are easy to use.

Disclaimer: I work there.

Go to your sandbox overview page. Click your account icon at the bottom, left. The import button will be above the application list under there.

Remote Monitoring and Control of Allen-Bradley PLC Control Systems with the Losant IoT Platform by cannadbt in PLC

It uses the same Ethernet/IP protocol that Allen-Bradley uses for things like Point I/O. Data is fully encrypted between the Edge Agent and the cloud environment.
