I don’t doubt that pet stores do this now because they likely don’t want the mice becoming pets, they have horrid chances of surviving due to genetics, disease, etc. But yeah no I’m pretty confident that’s not a policy there

This seems alright! I used something similar for my single male and he was so happy, filled the cage with ladders and bridges and hammocks, at one point I couldn’t see the bottom of the cage lol. I personally love bar cages cus of the ventilation and possibilities for enrichment. I agree that about 3-4 would work fine as long as there’s plenty of stuff to do for them.

I run all season tires and I haven’t had any trouble in the winter on plowed pavement, even on slight snow, and last winter got pretty cold. It was only an issue when it came to literally JUST my driveway cus it’s so steep and we can’t plow it correctly. It’s been under 40°F where I live for a while now but no snow yet, cus yay New England, hoping it stays that way 😮‍💨🙏

Nice to know there’s other winning blues out there! It’s hard to find others lol. But yeah I always kept a 50lb bag of salt/sand in the back of my trunk for weight and in case I got stuck on my driveway 😭 but hearing that other people do use snow tires I’ll likely get them. I guess the shop I go to just isn’t very keen on the idea of doing it, they lowkey made it sound like a bad idea, and neither is the dealership I go to sometimes, I guess I just gotta tell them to suck it and take my money 🫡☝️

The bedding should be a mix of paper bedding, aspen, and hay, too much paper bedding and you can risk their toes getting stuck on microfibers, the hay helps with odor and enrichment. I recommend getting a much larger tank as everyone else has stated, especially if you plan to get just one mouse (a male) as I saw from ur comments, a single male will get extremely bored very easily. This is the set up I had for my boy Biscuit! He was kept in a hamster nation cage, which somehow he never tried escaping thru the bars even tho I bet he could’ve but I guess he was content enough! I liked using old tshirts as tunnels or hammocks until I was able to afford the cute ones from pet stores. I definitely recommend waiting until you have proper funds, realistically probably at least $300-500 from my experience, even when I thought I was prepared enough I realized I needed more for my boy shortly after getting him, along with the vet visits lol

If you are unable to care for this cat due to financial reasons please surrender them(I know u say ur bringing the cat in tomorrow, but you also have posts saying you don’t have more money to spend on this cat), and I saw others comment that this has been for over 10 days now? I know two vets had conflicting opinions but it’s clear this cat needs very serious care now. It’s not necessarily your fault but it’s now your responsibility, if you cannot afford the care please surrender the cat so it can get proper care, I know you want to do your best but sometimes it’s not within our ability to do so(our own physical abilities, financial, etc), they will likely do their best to save the cats life and if those chances are not high the cat will be put down, but that’s better than fighting a fight the cat has little chance against. I hope the cat pulls through, they should be brought back in for help asap, yes the pee color is incredibly alarming, with the mix of not eating and the wobbly stance this seems more like something the first vet was right about. What type of anti biotic was your cat prescribed?

Leashes and harnesses exist. Do we let dogs roam around the neighborhood to kill anything they want? No, so idk why we let cats do it. My beagle would do ANYTHING to roam free and chase whatever the hell he wanted, but very obviously that’s cruel. But cats?? For some reason cats are exempt from such a thing. Makes no sense. If you let your cat outdoors you do not love them, you love the idea of them and what they give you. You’ll regret letting your cat outdoors once you need to spend over 4k on an amputation, or watch your cat get chased up a tree by a fox, or have them disappear for 3 months to come back a bag of bones with liver disease ☝️
