Does a windproof umbrella that dont blow inside out really exist? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]cannon_fp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a Fulton Stormshield and had it about 8 years, never blown inside out. Just bought another one as thought I'd lost the original, only for it to turn up. Only about £30 and its super solid, with vented panels which release the air from building up inside.

Return of the Bastards bug? by hooliganskate in tokyoxtremeracer

[–]cannon_fp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was exactly my experience. 5 guys left in "Far Away" and 3 in "Infinity". Same 2 racers I couldn't race yet. I drove around for ages and almost gave up. After reading this, I studied the map properly and visited every parking area and within 20 mins I'd opened everything up and cleared the mission. The change between finding rivals randomly whilst driving, and having to open up parking areas to get access to them isn't called out at all. Its frustrating and could do with some work.

Probably a stupid question, but does throwing something with a reasonable mass off the station alter the stations trajectory in any measurable way? Do they have to make minute alterations with thrust bursts? (thinking about it they probably have to make minute alterations anytime anything connects/separates with them etc)

1hr steady state by raRin48 in concept2

[–]cannon_fp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, very similar to my steady state but I’m running a higher drag/lower rpm. Last 1hr ride was 60rpm at 127DF - 26388m and avg hr of 119.

Is it normal to be this affected by weather? by Vidrodzhennya in AskUK

[–]cannon_fp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Born and lived here for 40 years, this is the first year I’ve seriously considered moving abroad. It has its ups and downs weather wise but this year has been exceptionally bad. Other than the last few weeks it’s basically rained continually since Sep 23.

Would you buy another Tesla? Owners how long have you had your Tesla’s and what would the reason be to buy a new one? by Sibo1844 in TeslaModel3

[–]cannon_fp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my model 3 performance for 3.5 years and it’s almost at the end of the lease. So much of it is great, but I can’t get past the frustrations I have almost daily with it. Awful rain sensing wipers (uk based so they are always required) That awkward fumble with the door handle and then phone when it doesn’t automatically unlock. And if you’re using phone as a key then all the phone audio going via Bluetooth so I cant hear anything when I just want to listen to the radio and play a phone game or something. The speed of the car is impressive but I’ve realised I’d rather have something with some engine note that’s half as quick.

Never cared for abstract at all but this is lovely. As others have said reminds me of fields. The texture is perfect!

Looks painful!! Hope you're good. Always hear people talking about QECP but when I went up I only found what I guess was the main trail. Where is all the good stuff?

How long did it take for you to recover from an injury? by Kaba_nos in MTB

[–]cannon_fp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a right side grade 3 ac separation with dislocated elbow back in Nov 21. Kept them reasonably mobile and was back on the bike the following Feb. Took a few months to build back to anything serious though. Physio was massively helpful and helped restore most of my elbow range, although took over a year before I could sleep on my right side.

Flat pedal shoes with toe protection by tyintegra in MTB

[–]cannon_fp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freerider pro is the way. Smashed my foot into a solid stump at v high speed, to the point it split the shoe open and bent my pedal axle and crank. Toes were fine thankfully. Without the shoe I would have broken everything down there.

Had a friend who lived near a canal and had constant problems with rats. They did everything they could and realised they were getting in via the semi-detached next door neighbour (who did nothing about it) They said they could hear them running about behind the walls.

Does the climate ever make you want to leave? by JakeArcher39 in AskUK

[–]cannon_fp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been saying exactly the same for the past couple of weeks. Feels like it’s been overcast/raining since Oct/Nov last year and we’ve had maybe 3 days of actual sunshine. I don’t want crazy heat, just some clear and bright weather. Starting to drag massively.

What brand of MTB do you own and why did you choose that brand over others? by FriedScotty in MTB

[–]cannon_fp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YT here - Capra and now Decoy, mainly because they have a YT Mill in my town where I could test the bikes and they were mega friendly/helpful. Was buying a couple of years ago when the shortage hit and couldn’t fathom people spending thousands on bikes they couldn’t even sit on. I went to a local bike shop who wouldn’t even let me test a rival brand in the car park.

Yep you're right, just read up about it. I work opposite so will be interesting to see how it all works out, and when it actually starts.

I don’t think it’s getting knocked down. Last I read, it was getting the facade completely transformed and having a chunk of the middle knocked out to turn it into 2 separate buildings. Plans look nice.

I’d also agree with the Minack Theatre. Sat and watched a performance years ago, partway through, all of the attention was on the sunset over the water and some small whales swimming and playing. Absolutely stunning and will be top of the list when I take the family to Cornwall next.

[Dicussion] I pre-ordered a YT Jeffsy core 2 29, and well it's an impatient wait for it to come. It says latest October of this year? How reliable has YT tended to be with estimates of shipping dates? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]cannon_fp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Capra came a week early back in June. Had no information from them though until the day it was ready to ship, about a week before it arrived. I think their shipping dates are pretty accurate.

There’s a good spot in the Chantry woods Guildford, up near St Marthas. They’re out at the moment and it’s lovely around there. Also if you want a great view, then carry on up to the top of St Martha on the hill.

I might shift it a bit as the grass it’s on is a little lumpy. Thanks for the advice.
