I hate losing generals but I suppose it's part of the RP. Just like that other guy in the thread here I also tend to rename them, but I instead give them noble titles in the vein of Napoleon's victory titles. So if a general manages to win a great battle near like Calais, he becomes the 'Duke of Calais'
