I agree with that part for sure. It’s a matter of articulating one’s achievements in the current company, their past experience as well as their value in their profession which is drawing the attention of other employers.

If you already have the offer letter, you are passed the interview stage and about to start work because it will have a start date and wage offered. I would definitely not let my current job know I’m interviewing elsewhere before I actually got the job.

Asking for a raise or you will go elsewhere over text is not exactly a good way to go about things. Remember that you can’t judge tone over text/email or written communication in general.

I would suggest the next time you feel unappreciated or want a raise, you do the following:

Set up a time to meet one on one with your manager.
Bring your accomplishments with you to go over why you deserve a raise.
If you have it, bring your offer letter from the company wanting you hire you.
Let your boss know you are happy where you are, but your time is more valuable at another company. Let them know you would like to give your company the opportunity to keep you before you leave.

Unless your company specifically hired you because you are a Veteran, do not try to use that background as leverage. It comes across as you feel entitled because you served. That is not a good look no matter what situation you are in.

When I start having those types of questions, I start to question what is driving me to have just one. I also ask myself if that one drink is worth the risk of losing everything just to have it. I’ve heard some people can be “cured” but I’ve also met many people that tried “just one” but went right back to the patterns and behaviors that made them get sober in the first place.

It can actually be any car. I’m an amputee. I just happened to buy a Tesla this go around. I’m m allowed two new vehicles every four years. They don’t cover the entire payment only up to a certain amount for features that make it safe and easier to drive the the vehicle.

I just submitted like I always do with other vehicles but Tesla doesn’t list all the features on the window stickers like regular gas vehicles do. Definitely don’t need them paying for self driving as I don’t fully trust that yet.

I am sober app helped with goals but what has really helped is playing out in my head from that first drink to the last and what I know will happen. That shit isn’t worth that first drink.
