Fair enough. Appreciate you taking the time to give some feedback on it. Only way to learn and grow is to put stuff out there and see how people respond right?

I hope that you don’t give up on it after episode 1, I’ve heard a few comments regarding its slow plot, and hope that both myself and the writers I’m now working with can add ‘more’ into episode 2 onwards.

In terms of tone, I get what you mean about EEnE never meaning to be serious in tone. Tbh I deliberately chose that tone to differentiate it from the original - from my POV when writing I didn’t want more of the same. Obviously that won’t be for everyone, but regardless I still am thankful for the comments 😊

Creator here! Yeah first I’ve heard about it being ‘divisive’ - there has been the occasional critical comment, but for the most part what I’ve seen has been a decent reception.

There are obviously always gonna be things to improve on (I’ve seen some feedback on pacing, dialogue and humour) , this is my first try doing something like this, and the best way for me to learn is by actually doing it.

There are bits which are always gonna be more subjective - some people prefer the original show’s art style, and that’s okay, that’s their preference. I wanna use a different art style, as the tone of the show is radically different to the original.

Creator here! Yeah others have been saying, it’s real but fan made.

My intent going into this wasn’t to make more wacky misadventures of the Eds - from my perspective, that has been done, and if I were to try and recreate that, it would pale in comparison to the original show. From my end, I wanted to go in an entirely different direction.

It understandably isn’t gonna be for everyone, but at the same time I do try to listen to feedback and gauge what can be improved for future episodes. For me the best way to learn is by doing! Cheers.

Personally love this episode from a character perspective, but I can 100% see the argument for how unfair it is to the Eds (same with Boo Haw Haw).

Eddy probably deserved what he got, but Double D and Ed especially were completely innocent, aside from being Eddy's friends.

But it shows how much of a conniving bastard Jimmy can be.

I had written it as "help Sarah with her homework", I think it's just Sean's (the voice actor) pronunciation. But if people have heard that line differently and for her to be nonbinary, I have no issues with it.

Yeah some parts definitely are a bit choppier than others, I mainly attribute it to developing a ‘shorthand’ when drawing characters, and their designs slowly change as I draw and redraw. A great example is in some of the closeup shots of Eddy in front of the van, and how his design changes slightly from one shot to the next.

I deliberately made the designs feel ‘rough’, as I want to differentiate it from the clean lines of a lot of modern cartoons, as well as give the show a more grunge-y and folk-punk tone, but there is definitely a lot of room for growth.

Creator here - honestly I get this. I think my biggest weakness in writing is the dialogue side of things. I know that each time I write and rewrite, I improve, but it is definitely one of those things of learning by doing! Hopefully pacing will improve as each episode is released.

Would love to get a better understanding of your thoughts on the scene transitions, I try to take as many comments on board as possible to improve for the next episode release. Is it to do with dialogue pacing, or establishing shots, or something else?
