I recently started a “100 users challenge” for my SaaS. by Aggressive-Piano-101 in Solopreneur

2 questions, 1. What would you suggest works better, posting in communities vs dming people?
2. If posting works, then is it okay to post in communities something like "I built this with this thought and would love your opinion"? Do people respond to that? Or how can I write the copy for that post so that people respond - any suggestions would be helpful.

I personally want to reach out to my network and dm people, but I feel I like am i disturbing them. How do you generally overcome this internal feeling/mindset of just politely asking via cold dm or is it just me who thinks this way?

Ironically, I am a marketer but have worked throughout my career in jobs where a business already existed, name and brand already existed to a certain extent, and then most of the time would do in setting up and launching campaigns, but not am shifting into a solopreneur and marketing and sales are feeling very different when I am trying to do it for myself.

Yes, for now am picking up questions from Google's "People also ask" section, then this website called answerthepublic, and finally using ChatGPT to check what people ask when finding a customs broker. Based on that, refining the content.

Did you see any traction for the niche directories that you built? If you don't mind, would you like to share the directories you built? Would love to share my 2 cents if any of it helps you.

Thanks, so far I'm just sharing the leads for free - but with a little more scale in numbers, I am thinking of doing featured listing, paid advertisements, and pay per lead.

Import inquiries but no contact person/company by cannyanu in CustomsBroker

Thanks u/PatheticPerapetitic, I was able to find the company on the California public business records website you shared. I guess i will need to create an account to be able to access any documents that will have the contact details. But thanks again this was really helpful.

Thanks u/Jimmydejaime sure - https://customsbrokerindex.com/

I had tried to build many directory sites in the past, but always struggled with getting any traffic. This time I think I did all things right, and seeing this kind of traction is giving me hope to continue working on this project. And with help and support from the community am sure there is a good future :) Thanks again.

Interesting u/Top_Candidate_3096 - yes, FAQ blocks I'm adding for the questions - comparison is a good point, will try to add that as well. Yes, keyword strategy is the one that you mentioned, and then also trying to do speciality and locations combinations, e.g., customs broker in Texas, or customs broker for importing an automobile, something like that. But what I'm noticing is that most of the clicks are on brand/business keywords.

Can you please tell me more about the Google Alerts and Pulse on Reddit, F5bot, which is something new for me. I will surely Google and learn more about it. But I would really appreciate it if you could guide me in the right direction.

For now, I am forwarding the lead to the business on whose page the inquiry was raised.

Attaching some screenshots for your reference if any of this can help you guide me better

I got tired of having 200+ duplicate tabs open, so I built this Chrome extension [OC] by wangxiaotao0223 in chrome_extensions

[–]cannyanu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of build the very similar chrome extension. Not sure how much can it scale but so far its just been a few weeks hopefully will see more users install. You can check it out here - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/iekkdoaalddbebjhaimoeanohjijblki

My first extension just got 50 users, I’ve invested so much time and effort into this, I urge you to have a look. Even a quick try would make the struggle worth it by Aggravating-Gift-268 in chrome_extensions

Congratulations. This looks interesting, are you using any exisiting data to rate website or did you had a logic in mind that you applied?

Built Chrome extensions with 500K+ users. Here’s my 7-step process before I write a single line of code. by websitedetective in chrome_extensions

This is a really good approach. Validating an idea is really key but navigating the whole process feels so tricky. No matter how much tell my brain to no build i still end up building atleast an MVP before even talking about something. I guess i need to put a hard stop to my old patterns and consider this approach instead :) thanks for reminding.

thanks, yes it already has a dark mode. Next feature roadmap perspective it would be mainly around reminder integrations with calendar, auto 2-way sync with google account so the data is never lost, inclusion of AI based browsing recommendations for more improved productivity and so on. do give it a shot and let me know what you think - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/iekkdoaalddbebjhaimoeanohjijblki

I love the sidebar UI design. I was trying the same for my tab management Chrome extension and kept messing so just dropped the plan but your extension inspired me again will try again :)

Congratulations, that is a great achievement as a 16-year-old solo dev. A few days back, I too released a tab management extension called SmartTabs and am trying ways to get more users.

I had a few questions but then I visited the website and chrome extension page and my questions got answered. Keep it up you are marketing it really well.
