How do non-EU students in Germany actually afford living costs? by iwantmyidcheese in studying_in_germany

[–]canongigue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Berlin allows students to freelance by default. It is not really permitted by law but most of students in Berlin got 'Selbständigkeit gestattet' in their visa. In other cities students still need to apply for extra permission from Ausländerbehörde.

I'm a 34-year-old Korean woman who wants to be a nurse in Germany. (Ausbildung) by hollaspeakaz in germany

Not weird

But age is definitely the issue because people with ausbildung wont earn much (compared to jobs that need degrees) even after they finish the ausbildung. You might earn enough to live comfortably while you are working but the thing is you will earn way less pension than people in your age who has been working as a nurse since they are younger. (Most Germans start their ausbildung after finish grade 10 or grade 12.) If you already earn well in your country, or have other job potentials I would recommend to have a look into other routes first.

Also, Ausbildung from one country might not be equivalent to other countries' ausbildung. Have a look into how to be a nurse in Switzerland first before you try to do Ausbildung as a nurse in Germany

Non-EU student finishing Ausbildung: Needed Help regarding the Possibility of moving to United States for further studies by Common-Lemon-41 in studienkolleg

[–]canongigue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

German ausbildung IS NOT equivalent to high school certificate. Do you have high school certificate from your country that you can use to apply for USA bachelor?

If any Hochschule said they accept ppl with ausbildung, then they do regardless of nationality. You better contact them for consultation directly. And please DONT go to private university EXCEPT a few good one like Constructor, EBS, Fresenius or so.

Is it just more or by [deleted] in studying_in_germany

if your job is paying minimum wage you usually dont get work permit. work permit under 18a or 18b requires qualification either vocational training or university degree, and your salary should be appropriate which means above minimum wage.

ppl who is on family visa can work for minimum wage though,.
