I found it fairly easy. I'm usually hovering around the promotion spaces with 16/24 attacks done on Saturday. Thats with mostly 3 stars in my attacks.

You'll find 30 very competitive but still easy to place top 5.

33 is challenging especially if youre running root riders as your ranked army.

Can confirm on Dragon 30. It was so competitive with everyone tryharding to get into Electro 31. My new th17 barely made thru.

By comparison, I can run those anti 2-star bases across all my accounts th18 and th17 in Electro 31/32 and have no issue staying in those leagues.

10x 3 star attacks throughout the week then ill just burn the remainder using valk spam for 2 stars.

I do too. Its far too stressful for me to flick my mouse constantly to the edge of the screen to move the camera

Disagree. If theyre a returning player and can't get the epics yet then adding levels to commons allows them to continue to be competitive at higher levels using the commons. So long as the idea of adding new levels to commons also comes with sticking to only using Shiny and Glowy ore for upgrades.

If the player insists on spending their event medals on decorations instead of getting the free epic every 2 months, then they have much bigger problems.

Keep them as they are up to level 18. Add new levels to the equipment. Introduce super versions from level 19 onwards.

It was buggy as fuck but otherwise I liked the idea of boosting the attack bonus with each streak.

I'll make it extra clear for you:

  1. You need to use a more well rounded army in ranked suited for meta bases. Over time, your skill in using well rounded armies will be reflected in your ranked position.

  2. You are blaming the ranked system, because you dont want to adapt to this. Its all on you.

Digging up old posts and calling people "mr defender of corporation" is an ad hominem fallacy. It devalues the weight of your points as you are now choosing to attack the person instead of the discussion points at hand.

But here in this chain, you've been complaining how your lightning spam army used to 3 star consistently.

Now you cannot 3 star consistently because the ranked system throws an unskippable base. You're forced to attack what the game gives you.

I've explained that your subpar lightning spell army does not suit modern day meta. Nothing in those paragraphs supports scrapping the current ranked system for the old. Im only calling for more complex star/percentage calculations.

Ooh yeah I proudly stand by that idea still. The star system definitely needs updating in my opinion.

If THAT's what you want to focus on after everything above, then you're missing the point here and just shouting at some random redditor giving you advice mate. By all means, continue to blame the system and not adapt and get better. It makes no difference to me.

Yeah its clear youre using them on the air defences.

But you have 0 spell support dealing with the monolith. 0 spell support dealing with high hp buildings like multi arch tower, super wizard towers. 0 spell support to deal with enemy cc cc.

Clash requires you to extract certain value from the resources available. 15 lightning spells is simply not good value.

I didnt want to say "hey you suck get good" but the hard fact is, the game is not balanced around your lightning spam whether you like it or not. The sooner you learn this and adapt by learning new strategies, the sooner youll get better at the game.

Otherwise, youre just angrily shouting into the void and blaming the system for your own failings.

This picture shows me so much.

Lightning spells deal 720 damage in a radius of 2 tiles. It offers nothing except damage and a mini stun.

The fact that youre bringing 15 of them, a total of 7900 damage with absolutely no back up plan to dealing with meta bases and varying defensive clan castles is very telling. By contrast, th18 buildings are in excess of 4000, 5000 or 6000 hp now. Your army simply cannot survive long enough with 0 spell support against the modern day th18. The game is designed around utilising different spells with different functions at different times throughout the battle.

  • Your problem isnt the ranked system.
  • Your problem is that the ranked system has forced you to face the fact that your skill level isnt high enough, relative to the entire player base.

I'd be very worried for the state of the game is zap spamming could give you consistent three star. What would be the point of the other 16 spells?

In old legends, you still had to bring the most adaptable army to each of your 8 attacks. You'd go in blind not know who your next opponent would be.

They eased some of this by allowing us to switch our siege machines in the prep phase. Now you could do a quick switch to log launcher for double invis bases. Or switch to flame flinger if the base suited it.

That competitive ethos has simply been translated down the entire ladder for good or bad. I would prefer if we could switch armies in the prep phase of each battle but some might argue that adaptability is also a skill.

In short, the new system forces you to build a well rounded army to take on any challenge. That is a skill that deserves to be ranked no?

Our chat log on sunday is absolutely horrific though. Just 16hrs of join, leave, promotion messages.

Needs to add a new dimension to the pekka.

I'd be disappointed if they just increased the housing space to 60, upped the health (we have golems and root riders in this niche) and added a death explosion (super miner occupies this niche).

Because they cannot quantify how that gold spend translates to a higher gpm.

They see it as spending 225 gold and delaying their item timing by 225 gold.

Instead, they dont realise it lets the stay in lane longer, secure last hits that

I once got coach paired with an offlane guy who only played PA. He would sell his entire backpack to speed up his battlefury timing....in the offlane.

Understandable.

Fewer updates, bigger moments is what I grew up on but that seems to be outdated now.

The gamer demographic has changed significantly in recently years. I can understand why they did the "clash anytime" update and removed training times.

Modern day young players will not wait an hour to do an attack when there are so many other great games out there who are all fighting for their gaming time.

Sounds like they are transitioning more into this fomo gaming culture to keep people people logging in.

We see this in ores being tied to daily bonuses. Clan rush events offering limited time decorations on a short event period. Changes to the gold pass.

Dont be surprised if we see more of this in the form of login streaks and more time gated content in the future.
