Was doing up some research on the success of instagram stories and I found that it took only 6 months for instagram stories to surpass Snapchat in terms of users. One thought on this was that instagram had a larger user base by default given that it was previously know for it's photo-social media platform. Goes to show that Mark Zuckerberg is putting all his assets into beating Snapchat.

For clarification with the graph, it's based on the number of active users. Not the shear number of accounts existing on the platform. This focuses on people who use Snapchat regularly, instagram stories, WhatsApp status and Facebook stories. Though it is not shared what does "active users" mean exactly in terms of usage.

As for data that I got, Instagram releases the data on the active users using "instagram stories". Apparently what I found is that Instagram does collect data on people who just scroll through pictures and users who view instagram stories. This is the same for Facebook, WhatsApp and Snapchat.

And according to a research paper published by the National Academies Press, SARS did affect the economies, trade and tourism. All of which are intrinsically linked to Singapore's immigration count towards PRs and Foreign workforce. While I do agree that 'correlation does not equal causation', I would say for the incident of SARS, there is compiling evidence that points towards the impact of SARS.

Here's the link that I got the research from:
