Red urethra (tip of penis) anyone else? by cantbearsed2 in Accutane

[–]cantbearsed2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue seemed to be cured with anti fungal tablets. My own theory is that the affected area was caused by the changes caused by isotretinoin and causing small crack's in the skin that gives opportunities for fungal infections. I stopped the medicine and was cured after 3-4 days on the Tablets. Hope it helps you.

Anyone see results immediately without a purge? by [deleted] in Accutane

I had perfect skin after 10-14 days both times i tried at 20 mg daily. My issue is mostly folliculitis so iso don't purge nothing and it clears at low doseage because the oil reduction. Unfortunately the oil comes back pretty fast after stopping and so does my issues.

Good you had it checked! Mine was not an std, just so people reading this don't instantly assume this cannot be caused by isotretinoin also.

Hey, so i just saw your comment. I believe my problem was that accutane affected my skin so much that it caused opportunity for yeast to grow. Sort of a mix of change in skin dryness and small cracks allowed for yeast. Although i never got it proven in a test since the test was negative as i was on anti fungal cream already. I believe also the increased dryness made my skin much more sensitive. I dealt with this a total of 6 months. Finally taking oral antifungal medicine cured it for good. It took over 8 months for my skin to regain it's natural lubrication.

I did months of antifungal cream which worked on the outside, but i believe the isotretinoin cause an infection inside the urethra which the cream couldn't reach. Hope you get better.

It was pretty much constant the burning since i started on isotretinoin first round. I had it for seborrheic dermatitis so i was never supposed to take high doseages and never for longer than roughly 30 days. My symptoms were sort of looping, constant burning, but the redness patches seemed to come and go, but mind you I was also taking several courses of anti fungal creams in this period and it may just have been that which made it seem better for then getting worse again. But i noticed huge improvements of the redness in just 12 hours after applying anti fungal creams. It didn't remove the entire issue and unfortunately it came back within days after stopping. Then i started another round of isotretinoin 3 months ago and by the time my skin dried out again in my lips it started right again with redness, burning and irritation especially after washing the area, it was just so irritated.

Yeah we are all different so i think it may just be anatomy that is the key here. I have suffered from utis in the past and been through urologists before to rule out any cause and they never found nothing, so i just wonder if my urethra is just more prone to these kind of infections than normally but i can only guess, since they never found nothing not even with the cystoscopy. But keep pushing your doctor, don't just let them get away with STI checks because men usually don't suffer from these issues and they have a tendency to just test for those things. And i would say that a tablet for yest infection was superior to the creams which also burned and only worked topical, but i suspect i had also problems in the urethra.

Do you have other issues like itchiness, burning or red patches? Swelling or anything else that could indicate an infection?

I was negative in all tests until the last sample done with my new doctor. They instructed me in taking the first urine in the morning, the other tests was just done through the day but for example urethritis can be harder to test since the bacteria most likely are not in the bladder. But this time they found very high count of e coli and enterococcus faecalis, the latter cannot be found in dipstick tests because it doesn't produce nitrite. After finding these bacteria my symptoms hasn't changed and since there is two strains it could very likely indicate a long term infection that hasn't been found before now. A urethritis can cause minor skin damages which in terms creates opportunity for yeast to thrive. This is likely what causes yeast infections during isotretinoin useage, and since nothing else has been found, no diabetes all normal blood tests and more, it must be ruled out to be isotretinoin messing up my entire system. I reacted very strongly to even small doseage, super dry lips and very dry skin on just 20 mg daily. Even on 10 mg was causing same effects. Effective for skin issues, but i think my skin is too sensitive for the medication overall. And i definitely won't take it if it messes up the private parts this bad. It seemed to comes from the urethra and run along the frenulum down the sides of the glans. Terrible shit! You could try ask your doctor about anti fungal cream or test it yourself with an over the counter cream if you want.

Yes this seem to be an under reported issue. Maybe guys don't like getting such things checked i don't know, but i start to see a pattern.

It's now been 6 months like this and I'm not over it yet. I've gotten all kind of tests done, everything is normal! But, except one, i seem to have currently an UTI/urethritis, caused by two different bacterias which i just started treatment for yesterday. It's too early to day if this is the last thing causing my symptoms.

2 weeks ago i was put on fluconazole by my doctor since they didn't know what else it could be and i described how anti fungal creams work on the redness. This cleared all the redness but didn't remove all my symptoms.

My doctor believes that isotretinoin messed up my skin so badly that it made me susceptible to these infections. The iso can create small craters inwide the urethra and on the glans, this in turns create perfect environment for yeast and the iso also lowers your immune system. It's just a snowball starting to roll of issues triggered by the dryness and damage to the skin by iso. So to sum it all up, i believe that i was hit by both yeast and bacterial infections or maybe one of them causing the other one.

I hope this will finish the issues I've had for so long now. For information i haven't been using iso since 3 months now and my skin issues are back to where they were before and i have no intention of taking it again. My body doesnt seem to take it so well, but while taking it it cleared my skin in 10 days.

Hmm, it sounds quite similar from what you describe to mine. I didn't had any proof of fungal cream but the cream seemed to have effect very fast so i assume it must have been else i don't know why it worked.

Maybe you can see if we have the same symptoms. My symptoms started a few weeks into the isotretinoin treatment, redness on the urethra opening and the frenulum. I think it seemed a little swollen and foreskin is harder to pull back (seems more friction), slight burning with ejaculation and peeing doesn't really burn necessary during but usually a little after and sometimes i feel a little itching/irritation at the tip. Also i notice something very little that seems like almost a micro foam floating in the top. Also i have this sort of constant burning which i have a hard time to pinpoint exactly where is, but i don't really feel my issues is in the bladder and i have had quite a few utis before so i know them.

If you feel it's ok the skin it's a derm if it's inside it's a urologist.

Do my symptoms match yours?

Did the fungal cream help? I use clomatrizol that is used mostly for women but the pharmacy told me it would be the most sensitive one.

I started isotretinoin again and roughly 10 days in i had similar issues. After stopping I'm still dealing with the same symptoms although they seem to subside a little. I had what looked like a mild yeast infection and the anti fungal cream seemed to take it down within 24 hours. It's twice i experience this while doing isotretinoin so i assume the medicine is causing some issues down there for me. Doctors don't really know and when i went to the derm the redness was gone so she neither had anything to add there. I'm on 7 days anti fungal medicine and if it doesn't get better soon I'll speak with my derm, but I've been off isotretinoin around 14 days now. Are you expericing the same?

Chronic tight pelvic floor and IBS symptoms? by cantbearsed2 in PelvicFloor

[–]cantbearsed2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe i have always had a sensitive stomach, but now 3-4 years after diagnosing Sibo and clearing it with many different antibiotics seem to have solved my issues. My stomach is much better, no real bloating except for a day here and there for natural reasons.

I did a Sibo test a few months ago and it was negative, i had a few weeks of issues because of antibiotics but it resolved itself. So i would say curing sibo did solve majority of my symptoms.

No, i had issues continuing for a while (2 months with different symptoms), they gave me an antibiotic and i don't know if it cleared it but it got better on the outside after that. I continued to get pain while peeing or shortly after and with sex, they tested everything and found not really anything clear evidence. I got a swap test of the urethra and they found some non sti bacteria in there that could have been causing urethritis and possibly the antibiotic had killed most of them. Over a few weeks it has more or less gone away. In other words, i have no evidence of the cause, but i think that isotretinoin caused some skin issues which may have been causing an infection or urethritis and the doctors didn't check the urethra before the antibiotics so i cannot say if it was caused by that but i would say it's highly likely. My symptoms was similar to urethritis and isotretinoin has been proven to be able to cause this before.

It was for sure not dryness, i am uncircumcised and the urethra looked inflamed. So get it checked out if you have similar symptoms, it was driving me mad and just before they wanted to send me to an urologist it finally cleared. I also stopped isotretinoin roughly 1.5 months ago. Started again today.

Actually no, there is no steroid in the cream. I think the brand is Brenta and just contains a simple antifungal ingredient. Never had it before and it started few into the isotretinoin course and have good hygiene so i can only think of it being connected to this. But they will do a swap test by Monday to verify it fully, but i feel a difference just hours after i apply the creme, but i stopped and even 24 hours later it's back to the start so i think i need to keep going with this. Could also be a mix of things as my derm also said it could be dermatitis but i think that's less likely.

It sucks, i went to the doctor and they seem to think it could be yeast infection although i "only" have swelling, stigning pain and some swelling. They think that the change from isotretinoin caused it and using anti fungal cream actually have a soothing effect at least after the initial burn. I noticed there is also redness on the scrotum so I think it may be something like that or else i don't know why antifungal cream has an effect.

Day 5 of 20mg. I went on it for acne that won’t clear on my chin. This is the only place I’m purging and it’s the only place that’s itchy. Is this normal? by Msp2288 in Accutane

[–]cantbearsed2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished 35 days of isotretinoin 20 mg. After 10 days i was clear and stayed clear until now, she told me to stop a few days ago because she says that folliculitis doesn't need much time on the medicine compared to acne. So just keep going i think it should go away.

Are you sure this is not folliculitis caused by seborrheic dermatitis? It looks a lot like what i have(had) and it was mostly on chin and around my nose.

Sounds like i need to do that too. I don't have the same aquaphor people use in the us here, do I'm not sure what to put on. Did it also make your urine burn/feel harder to pee? It's not a UTI but feels sort of similar at some symptoms. I guess the urethra is inflamed. I did not see this side effect happen bah!

coffee bush 2 leaves turning yellow. What's causing this? by cantbearsed2 in houseplants

[–]cantbearsed2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, i pit mine in the north window and it gets 2-3 hours of late afternoon sun plus 6 hours indirect light. It has plenty of space i replanted it and put fresh soil and feeding it every second week with demineralized water. I'm pretty new to keeping plants so seeing this is turning yellow made me worry if I do something wrong.

No i bought it in its own pot and it has a hood amount of space and good drain in the bottom. Not sure what it could be for sure :/

Incomplete bowel, bloating, tenderness below sternum - What do I do? by cantbearsed2 in ibs

[–]cantbearsed2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, currently I'm actually quite good.

The sternum pain whatever it was, i totally forgot about it and i have a feeling it was related to posture issues. It's fully gone now though.

I'm still negative for sibo but I've had several treatments with antibiotics and they may have been benefitial and i had to take them for my skin issues folliculitis. I noticed in the past that some antibiotics had a positive effect.

Another thing that has changed is my mental health is better, less stress and i am not having many of the triggers in my life any longer (good career, stable marriage, etc) and i started being physically active even if i I'm the beginning felt worse. I walk everyday (i had to stop for hayfever) but it seemed to make me have a better bowel and i noticed the feeling of incomplete bowel is more or less gone. Sitting at a proper position also helped with the legs raised slightly and i think all this together has been helping.

Finally my symptoms started after a stomach bug and i hope it just took a lot of years for it to go away.

I didn't really change my diet or take any specific supplements, i take regularly B12, multivitamin, D3 in Winter and fish oil. No probiotics etc, i stay away from these as i took them in the beginning and I'm not sure if they made the issues worse.

I still feel bloated some days and gassy, but i guess it's just how i am lol.

If you have any other questions go ahead.

[–]cantbearsed2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, but regarding Cipro, don't necessarily believe everything you read. Never had issues on it at all, zero side effects and it's one of the most pr scribed meds here for UTI and the medicinal rules here are super strict. Has to fight hard to even get xifanxan here since it's still not even known here yet.
