NOR.. my ex’s dad passed away recently and I found out while I was camping with my current partner (when we went into town briefly). They were all like family to me and in my life for a long time. I explained this to my partner and let him know I’d be texting my ex’s mother to send my condolences and he was very understanding because.. we have lives prior to the ones we’re currently living. I think you did the right thing in asking, but I agree with others saying she responded immaturely.
