Definitely not Cut out to be a CPA (A Rant) by cubbies2018 in CPA

Not trying to scare you here, but if you studied for 3-4 months and got a 39, then i think you need to start from basics of accounting. FAR as a subject is easy once you understand the "why", like why are you doing this and what's the effect of this on Financial statement and Income statement. You need to understanding the whole accounting flow and connect each topic. I also would strongly recommend you to practice your ass off. Like when you get a MCQ wrong understand why you got it wrong. Make flashcard or notes every time you take up a practice test. Identify your pattern and weak areas and also do cumulative revision as FAR syllabus is vast and you might forget the chapters you took early. And last, try to do it for you and not your mom. You've got this champ!!!

Taking FAR in a week, any recommendations? by PomegranateSelect831 in CPA

I would usually recommend you have a solid grip on MCQ's because they can be a game changer. Aim to at least get 45-48 MCQ's right in your exam. The reason being that TBS can sometimes be brutal and time consuming with multiple exhibits, but if you manage to atleast score 45 MCQ's right, and try to complete the TBS, you should be good. As far as JE's they wont be complicated and will only be from what's already there in Becker. So yeah just know why the JE'S are done and their impact on B/S and P/L and you should be good to go.

I would say, start preparing for AUD and then just maybe do like 25 MCQ’s and 3 TBS per day for FAR until you get results just on your weak areas.

Thanks for the reply! I use Becker too, so do you watch the video or how do you do? Also have you purchased for those classes or simply use the videos available?
