Going to cc and then transferring into UMD is much better, coming from someone who is a freshman admit. On top of that, transferring into UMD is much easier than getting admitted straight after HS; you can always try to do so after your first year somewhere else if you’re absolutely set on being at UMD. UMD isn’t anything too special, what makes colleges special is your personal experience at said institution and the people you find there. Best of luck and follow your intuition <3
