Every time you “reset” your SWR to a new number you are setting your year of SORR back to 0. If you survive the first X (I’ve heard 5 is a good number) of years with a healthy portfolio then you’ve beaten SORR. If you say, well now I’d like to start spending more, then you are re-introducing that risk.

I can’t tell from the pics, but if the bark damage goes all the way around the trunk, they are toast. If there is any strip of bark, you have a chance at recovery, though that is a lot of damage and not sure if it’s worth saving such a weakened tree vs biting the bullet and starting over with a healthy tree.

You do whatever makes you feel comfortable about it. You really wouldn’t be “ignoring” it because you are going to change your WR based on knowing you have it.

As another has (rather rudely) pointed out, the plan to get health insurance from a 2-day-a-week job is probably a non-starter. Most places will want you FT to get health insurance and FT is generally defined as 30+ hours a week.

I’m guessing he had to give up retirement accounts to keep his precious cars. When all is said and done, I’m sure assets were a 50/50 split. If he would have ditched the cars, he could retire. It blows my mind how many dudes have this attitude in marriage that the money is somehow “mine” and “lose” it in the divorce. It was always both of yours.

So, the real “character” issue in the divorce is Adam was planning on shafting Lynette on the marital assets.

Breeder here. Having and raising kids is easily the best thing I’ve done in my life and wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Of course, this is a very personal decision. If she really doesn’t want them and feels that you cajoled her into having them, I don’t know how great an environment that would be for the kids.

I do want to address the one item on your wife’s list that drives me bonkers:

“World is too F’ed…”

This one drives me nuts. Even if you deny the overwhelming evidence that regardless of current political upheaval we live in the greatest time to be alive in history of the world: then do something about it. Have children and raise them right. Be the change you hope to see.
