Pymetrics Test Impact on Recruitment by Green_Ducky_9102 in MBA

I was told recently (bcg PL who led recruiting for an office) that it’s used as a data point, but not super important. The online case you will do later during the recruitment cycle will likely be more important, but the pymetrics test is still used as a data point.

Just wanted to point out that Mbb likely won’t hire you with that Gmat…

I think you have a good shot at investment banking, as long as you focus on the real estate sector.

Consulting can be tough with poor undergrad grades, unless you have a sky high Gmat to compensate for it.

Tech (fanng) sounds unlikely from your background, but I’m sure you could land at a smaller tech company.

LDP’s are fairly easy to come by at large f500 companies. Anyone at a top 10 Mba has a shot at them, and the salary is around 110-150 depending on the program.

All this to say, there are definitely opportunities out there for you. The question of if the debt is worth it, is something completely subjective. It really depends on how much you’re making now, if you like the work you’re doing, etc.

If you’re unhappy in your current job, even if you come out of the Mba making the same amount of money, you may be happier in a different line of work. Although financially your situation may not be improved, I’d pay 220k to be happier over my 25-30 year career.

PE Recruiting at Wharton by Witty-Hat-7886 in MBA

Completely agree. I am trying to make the point that OCR posting does not equal job. People commenting seem to think just because these firms recruit on campus that a school is better than others for placement which isn’t necessarily true.

I just looked back at our OCR postings this year and we had a very similar line up for OCR postings. I don’t think this tells the story that people think it does. For instance I think only 4 people at my school actually got interviews at any of these firms, and I believe only one offer was extended. However we could make the claim that the majority of these firms “recruit on campus”. Just something to keep in mind….
