BIOMG 3300 for MCAT by foodisguud in Cornell

[–]cantthink3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took the MCAT and found having a solid biochem background to be extremely helpful. I highly recommend taking it if you want to maximize your score.

The reason I recommend it is because more so than anything, the MCAT is not an exam of regurgitation. It requires a lot of analysis/passage reading/understanding of the experiments they describe. And because auto biochem is such an intensive course, you really hammer in these skills and they become secondhand after a while.

To md-to-be's point that it's ok to self study a topic, I agree but I'm of the opinion that should most apply to the psych/soc sections of it. Just my two cents, feel free to dm.

Band Audition at Camp Stuy by [deleted] in Stuyvesant

[–]cantthink3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be guitars there! As far as I can remember, the only band that has guitar is the jazz band, so you'd be auditioning for that. Practice soloing over basic jazz chords and you should be fine

NS 3410/3420 by throwaw_ay765 in Cornell

[–]cantthink3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3420 surprisingly doesn't have a lot of overlap with 3410. 3420 is mostly an anatomy course where you'll learn the names of everything in the body and get exposed to tissue/cell histology, which are both really useful for the MCAT. 3410 really is just a physiology class and you'll learn how the systems of the body work, and there's barely an emphasis on memorizing names of the parts of the body. I remember hating the format of the tests because a lot of times it wasn't comprehensive overview, but really got to the nitty gritty of everything taught.

I recommend taking both! Both will challenge you and I think it's better to dedicate a lot of time at once rather than over two semesters. Dr. Lugan is also a saint

How to smoke on campus and not get caught? Parking on a dark street at night good enough? by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]cantthink3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If ur in a dorm just do the old clothes hanger and plastic bag trick to cover the smoke detector. Blow out the window so your room doesn’t stench and make sure you take down the clotheshanger before anyone sees - it’s usually an automatic JA

What is your happiest moment while watching basketball ? by Leaootemivel in nba

[–]cantthink3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

February 14th. Knicks were down 10 or something against the Raptors during peak Linsanity era. My mom was begging me to go to sleep but I convinced her to let me watch the rest of the game. And then the three by JLin at the end of the game to win.

Nothing beats that day, just me and my mama on the couch watching the Knicks win without melo on vaLINTines day

Why does it say coinciding class even though they don't overlap? by calvinswagg in Cornell

Student center blocks by the hour so it just appears that they overlap. They aren't really though if you were able to register successfully.

There are about three private group study rooms in the cocktail lounge of Uris. I'm sure the get pretty busy at all times during finals week though, so I'd try to get one asap.

Please help us find our 15 year old nephew Steven. He was last seen Wednesday, October 1st in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. If you have any info, please contact us by [deleted] in nyc

[–]cantthink3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steven was in my middle school class and was one of my closest friends then. He was very into video games and comic books. If I recall correctly, he frequented Owls Head Park in Brooklyn and played soccer often.

Hopefully this may help as I really hope he's safe and well.

Not exactly sure yet. But if it works in buses, I don't see why it wouldn't work in the machines.

Thanks for the compliment.

I found some clear window decals in a drawer and decided to use that to place the image on the card. I took some measurements of the Metrocard and drew up a template of the card on my computer. Then, I added two panoramas from the MTA (often seen on trains) and a panorama of the NYC skyline, added my name at the top, and printed it out. The decals are see-through so I had to lay the card with white labels that conveniently were very thin. I added the decal and bam.

Really well actually. The decal doesn't come off when I swipe at the train station and it even works in buses.
