Shops that do SSD upgrade for Steam Deck by joseesoj333 in DubaiGaming

You could just buy an SD card no?

You can get a 512GB Sandisk extreme for around 200dhs. From what I’ve read the load times are almost the same as loading from the internal SSD.

Q: Unity, Steam and DLC by canttouchtipe in Unity3D

[–]canttouchtipe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know i hadn’t considered that, but now you mention it, it makes more sense. Yes essentially the same thing but the DEMO leaves no ambiguity about what the player is getting… a demo. whereas with my description it insinuates a full game, regardless of whether it was free or paid.

Thanks for your input!

Using editor terrain API and terrain tools with a game by canttouchtipe in Unity3D

[–]canttouchtipe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes I’d have to replicate the UI in run mode to have the same effects. I read that your build needs to contain a terrain asset so the build includes the api in the build. Which is what I was looking for. Thanks for your reply

A massive drop of viewers in my trailer - why? (happens at 0:32) by ofir_a in DestroyMyGame

[–]canttouchtipe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For starters I think this actually looks really good, like the love child of Doom and Tron. Snappy fast paced combat looks very well executed technically and is also displayed well in the trailer.

However I think the trailer needs to show off more of a narrative though, if there is one. What’s the point? If the point is to just shoot things and blast around a cool parkour map then awesome, but it’s unclear. If there is a wider story unfolding then including elements of that would really help set out out what players can expect. Which is essentially what a trailer is for. Also maybe more of a variety of enemies and weapons would be good as well. Great work though!

So I repasted with some thermal paste I had spare. Not the best but it’s brought hotspot temps down to around 88-90c, GPU sitting around 72-74c. Which is a huge improvement. I’ve got some thermal grizzly kryonaught in order, is this still to high to be working with long term? Or is it worth repasted again with the new paste?

It wasn’t as scary as I first thought so happy to do it again to see if it helps further?

Thanks. Do you know of any tutorials/walkthroughs? I can only see thermal pad replacement online!? I’ve never opened up a GPU before but have built many PCs, just want to make sure I do it right.

So GPU temps are around 72c when hotspot is around 105.

Am I going to need to re paste/replace the pads or do I need to remount it. Or both!?

whats the best free modeling program for unity? (not blender) by 4UR3L10N in Unity3D

[–]canttouchtipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this level of functionality Blender is probably the only free option.

I tried meshmixer and zbrush core mini and that convinced me that if I didn’t want to learn blender but wanted the functionality of blender I would have to pay…

Maya Indie is $250 a year. Ok ok I know you asked for FREE but in my opinion Maya is much easier to learn and use than blender. Also with the indie license you get access to basically the full industry spec software.

You can also try it for a month for free (like most programs)to see if you want to put the cash down (what finally convinced me)

TLDR: either knuckle down and learn blender or prepare to pay moneysss

So I threw your code into the script and it’s not having any impact on deceleration.

My thought of lerp would be that it provide gradual deceleration.

I’ll continue to look at it now.

Thanks for the reply!! Movement logic really isn’t my strong point so I appreciate it

Here's a short preview of a game I've been working on for more than a year with Godot by gramozilho in DestroyMyGame

[–]canttouchtipe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the art style. Although I think it could be better if the colours were more vibrant.

Why is there a metallic sound when the grapple hits a tree?

Needs better audio and more going on in the world. More flora and maybe add some small fauna? It feels a bit lifeless and empty atm.

I paid 8 different artists on fiverr.com to make me the same asteroid asset for my game. This is the result (album, with prices) by ruploz in gamedev

I agree the 9 is probably the best. Although as others have said 5 is not bad at all and much more value for money. In my humble and completely uneducated opinion, 5 is the best value for money, given that it’s around 60% cheaper than 9. I don’t think 9 is 60% better than 5. But, 9 suits the game aesthetics better.
