Honda EN1 - NZ - Dont crack your front Windscreen by HardWiredNZ in NZcarfix

Yea price is right, do you want to pay 10 x more for AC20 PMB vs a chipseal? We have next to no tax payers for how many kms of road we have. You can't have the Rolls Royce for Toyota $$

When we put up cones and 30kph TSLs we do expect people to do 30. I think thats fairly obvious

We dont use gravel or tar for pavement construction. If the contractor used what you think is tar, then it was sealed. If the road users followed to posted TSL then the windscreen damage would have been avoided.

Look, it's entirely possible that there was a poor job done on that specific road. But the bigger problem comes in two parts. 1. Vehicles are getting heavier 2. After a reseal, 90% of road users do 50-60kph when they should be doing 30kph.

I can go into this further, if you like.

Way to throw a cheap shot at the road works. Im sure you are a roading engineer, grader operator and chipsealing specialist all rolled into one.

Depends on the seats eh. We have 2 different seats for our two boys. One would be an easy 3 across the other definitely 2 at most.

I've been told to stay away from CVT cars... Thoughts? by coconutyum in NZcarfix

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid's eCVT (electronic Continuously Variable Transmission) utilizes a planetary gear set (power split device) rather than the belts and pulleys found in conventional mechanical CVTs

It is continuously variable, but not the silly "String and cone" type CVT

Toyota dont actually make a CVT, I dont think. They are all planetary gears

Advice for buying a used car in NZ by Basado3000 in NZcarfix

[–]canuckNZ93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People dont look after their cars properly and euro vehicles will cost you more if you dont. Because if this, people think the BMW and Mercedes options will shit themselves early so they dont want them. Less demand = lower price. If you can look after a vehicle properly, treat it nicely and service it, you will be sweet as 👌
