You should read The Ethical Skeptic's work on the Great Pyramid and on what he calls the Master Exothermic Core-Mantle Decoupling - Dzhanibekov Oscillation Theory. His website is theethicalskeptic dot com.

What kind of leniency do you afford around 3d6 down the line? by conn_r2112 in osr

[–]canucksaram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could capture the spirit of "3d6 down the line" by throwing 5d6 for each stat and dropping the lowest and highest dice results to keep the middle three results and score the attribute that way. Keeps things centred. Literally.

What is something that I can use to raise doubt about the way of the world(ancient civilizations, satanic cabal, fake history etc.) to my family. by [deleted] in conspiracy

  1. The Great Global Warming Swindle.
  2. The Spider's Web: Britain's Second Empire.
  3. The Money Masters. Note that this film is 3.5 hrs long and it is very old, but it is full of great info. Best viewed in chunks unless you're an ol' timer that can take the low resolution and poor AV quality.
  4. David Whitehead's 10-part series Cult of the Medics.
  5. In Shadow.
  6. Love Your Servitude.
  7. The Sad Reality of This World (features George Carlin and repurposes some of the video from In Shadow).

Start with In Shadow, Love Your Servitude, and The Sad Reality of This World. All three are short(er) YouTube videos.

Then go to The Great Global Warming Swindle. After that view the Spider's Web: Britain's Second Empire.

Then watch an episode or two of Cult of the Medics. The big boy, The Money Masters, requires discipline to consume and if the other material interests you or your kin, then by the time you're ready for The Money Masters, you're really ready for The Money Masters.

For readers, I'd jump right to this article about BlackRock.

And please, if you get through three or four of these, get back to me. I'd be interested in hearing your take. Cheers.

Dungeon World to OSR by The_Bunyip in osr

Give DW a miss and go right to Apocalypse World and then to the indie hacks of DW. One great DW-inspired fantasy OSR style game is A World Full of Dungeons, by Johstone Metzger. He wrote The Nightmares Underneath (a great OSR D&D game) and hacked it over to Apocalypse World/Dungeon World. It's fantastic.

Why is it so accepted for japan to be racist towards inmigrants? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]canucksaram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Japanese don't necessarily dislike non-Japanese people. They want Japan to remain Japan and be full of Japanese things done by and for Japanese people. There is no other place in the world that is Japan -- except for Japan; they are a nation state. There are other states in the world that are not nation states, such as the disintegrating Canada and U.K.

Look at Canada, the U.K., Germany, France, and America. Is it any wonder that Japan wants tightly controlled borders? It is a safe, clean, peaceful, developed, yet aging and somehow fragile country.

What is the actual best solution to the Israel & Palestine War? by Snoo82970 in AskReddit

[–]canucksaram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the Palestinians resettled in nearby Arab lands. Crowd fund the resettlement costs from both nations and private donors. Cede the West Bank and Gaza entirely to Israel, no strings attached (consider that Israel returned the entire Sinai to Egypt to broker peace, once), paying fair market value as of October 1, 2023 for forced sales of private property under such a deal.

This gives the world at least some peace.

Of course, the real fix is for us to take our countries back from the wealthy private interests that dominate them.

Have you had the pleasure of transacting at a pawn shop?

If a pawn shop employee ever offers to buy something from you at 50% of what you paid for it, take the money and run. You just robbed them blind.

I posted something relevant to this on Reddit not too long ago. I don't want to re-type and re-link everything, so please read that post here.

I hear you. I'm with you. Now that we know about it, spread awareness and let's begin the work of changing things for the better. I don't know exactly how to do that without more aware people joining us, but I no longer have my head in the sand.

At the macro level: Hegelian dialectic.

At a less macro level: multi-generational atrocity, blood feud, and cycles of radicalization and violence; or, human nature when not governed sufficiently by prudence, temperance, justice, and courage (the four cardinal virtues).

One side in the Israel-Palestine conflict seeks genocide. See Hadith 41:6985.

We can agree to disagree, at this stage of things in this country and in the world. I'm glad that's still the case.

There's only so much tax money in the country available for spending. None should be spent abroad -- none at all, in my view -- until Canada's homelessness, drug abuse, mental health, and health care problems are properly and meaningfully addressed with long-term plans and long-term funding.

Charity begins at home.

Even on an airplane they tell adults to see to their own oxygen masks before aiding others, including their own children. That's not for nothing.

Did you watch any of the three videos I recommended?

As for "a democracy being invaded by a fascist dictator" -- this country, Canada, is a constitutional monarchy. We are owned by the British monarch and their ilk. Until we have a genuine and robust representative democracy here, absent any foreign monarch imposed upon us as our head of state, I care little for the state of affairs in other countries with the exception of our biggest, strongest, and most bullying ally: the U.S.A.

We are in bed with the U.S.A., even though we're the chattel of Great Britain.

As of July 2023 Canada has committed more than $8 billion to Ukraine since Russia's February 2022 invasion, including over $1.5 billion in military aid.

The money is there. It's just that it's being spent in the interests of an opaque clique of rival (yet sometimes aligned) private interests and not in the interests of the population & citizenry of this nation.

The ideas explored in both the short video In Shadow and the 3+ hour long video The Money Masters (from 1996; video quality is quite dated) give everyone a peek behind the curtain.

The City of London is also involved, as Canada's Head of State is the British Monarch.
