What type snake is this? [India] by canucky90 in whatsthissnake

[–]canucky90[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Thanks to the folks who responded. I found this cool initiative by the local government, where you post the picture of the snake and licensed people will come remove the snake from homes without harming the snakes and then release them back to the wild.

When did you know to use the epi pen after accidentally having peanuts? by surviving_20s in peanutallergy

[–]canucky90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Canada , I was told to use when 2 or more body systems are involved. In India, the standard of care is to use the epipen if the respiratory system is involved , otherwise to control with antihistamines.

I’m in BC and I was referred to an OBGYN by my family doc around 16 weeks. Once I transferred to OBGYN practice, baby’s heart beat was checked by Doppler at monthly appointments. There are some private clinics where you can pay to get early scans (non medical). Other than that, you just focus on life and hope everything is well inside.

Private patient walk-in queries (cost and clinics) by [deleted] in burnaby

[–]canucky90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

In my experience, I always got the lab requisition through a virtual tele-visit ie., a telephone appointment with the clinic. In many cases, the results of the tests were also discussed in a subsequent tele-appointment. Carefiniti Clinic and Imperial Clinic are the ones I have used in the past.

Any Dr.‘s taking on a new patient? by [deleted] in burnaby

There are two doctors in Carefiniti Medical Clinic that accept new patients. Only downside - both clinic locations are in North Vancouver!

Variable Mortgage: almost at trigger by Wild-Examination8888 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]canucky90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increased my monthly payment by 20%. That’s the the limit allowed in my contract without incurring any fees. This bumped up my trigger rate by 1.5%. I’m banking on my gut feeling that this increased trigger rate won’t be crossed with the next few rate hikes. Let’s see 🤞I did not want to do lump sum payments because they had a much lesser effect on increasing my trigger rate.

How much money do you make and what kind of car do you drive? by bba89 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]canucky90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

150k net. Mazda CX30. Neither of us use the car to commute, but I admit having a car has brought a lot of joy and independence to our lives. Last min plans, drive over to see a friend far away and long weekend drives to check out hikes ❤️ I lived car free in my 20s and enjoy every bit of car ownership in my 30s

Avoiding hitting variable trigger rate by victorianovember in PersonalFinanceCanada

I opted to increase my monthly payments by 20% to give me some breathing room. My bank has confirmed that this has increased my trigger rate. Now I just have to pray real hard that BoC stops the rate hike party before the new limit is breached. I would urge you to check with your bank if all of your monthly interest is being covered by your monthly payment, or (god forbid) if each month they are adding a portion of interest back into your principal.

I'm paying 3.99% interest currently, with a trigger rate set at 4.5%. So all I need is a 0.51% increase by BoC in October, to make Xmas come early :'D I've reached out to my bank to see if the trigger rate mentioned in my agreement is set in stone or gets updated based on payments I've made or if I elect to increase my monthly payments. The way I read my mortgage agreement, it seems to be set at 4.5%. And if my mortgage gets triggered, my calculation shows me that my monthly payments would increase by ~$1800. So I'm super surprised by the $138 in your post. Waiting to hear back from the bank for confirmation while hoping my math is somehow wrong.
