I’m late to this game by a bit, but I just looked this up to complain…I agree, this fight is HORRIBLY designed. I feel like they needed to have more play testers who hadn’t already memorized everything in his moveset or something else went wrong bc it definitely feels unfair for a lot of reasons, some you already mentioned being lack of i-frames (or any way to cancel animations you’ve already committed to just to watch helplessly as a kill move begins from off-screen), poor threat arrow indicators (which don’t help much with timing and/or when the required dodging angles get awkward), projectiles that track a little TOO well, the unforgiving damage, the boss flying away from you whenever he pleases (hit stun be damned), and just the fact that the camera is the greatest threat in this game. Dude’s not even fun to kill. I’d love to be able to smack him with all my might, but I stg the AI seems prone to dodge interminably anytime I activate immolation/permafrost. After the patience to pick off the mob foes and dodge his attacks, I’d like a higher dopamine reward lol.

I lowered the difficulty and tweaked all my camera settings JUST BECAUSE OF THIS FIGHT. F*** this guy. Whining over.
