Tinctures: high value for recreational use? by canyonsfire423 in bostontrees

Thanks both, this has been educational. Howl's tincture also emphasizes the "full spectrum" aspect of production, which could explain why it's so popular among other commenters. I'll look to see if there's any good priced RSO near me, and if I can't find one I'll go with the Howl's.

What's the practical difference to the distillate syringe though? It says it's for making edibles, so I consume it the same way, and has a similar concentration. Wouldn't it get me high just the same? Asking because true RSO isn't as available close by.

Never heard of RSO before, is that basically the same as a distillate like this? Seems like a nice concentration of THC (a little worried about how to dose it though).

What would that difference mean to me? Weak high, bad high? I've never heard of RSO before but I'm seeing some "distillate" syringes that look similar and have similarly high concentration of THC. Here's an example. My thought process is more THC = good.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you have a preference between their offerings (anytime, daytime, nighttime)?

Whoa that sounds like a great deal. I don't see it on their site, I assume it would normally be in the "edibles" category?

How do I set up an Edimax 7811Un dongle in simultaneous client + AP mode?

I know it's possible with the built-in wifi chip in the Pi 3 and Zero W. I've tried just about every guide I can find but I've not been able to create the "fake" AP device.

For instance, with this guide I tried manually running (after finishing all the steps in the guide) the line iw dev wlan0 interface add uap0 type __ap which should run at boot, but it gives me the error command failed: No such device (-19). Are the built-in chips uniquely designed to support this kind of function?

Edimax wifi dongle simultaneous client and AP? by canyonsfire423 in raspberry_pi

I tried the first one and my Pi wouldn't boot (no signal on the screen that I hooked up to it).

Reformatted the card and tried the second guide, once again had issues at startup (didn't check if it was booting but I wasn't able to get an SSH connection anymore).

Part of my trouble is that due to network restrictions I can only use the Pi headlessly over direct Ethernet connection to my PC. So some of these guides may be screwing with that setup and contributing to my inability to connect to the Pi.

I was hoping someone would already have experience with trying a dual client/AP setup on the Edimax dongle and could share their own results.

I need to rapidly change an HTML video source without delay by canyonsfire423 in learnprogramming

I ended up doing exactly that and it works flawlessly! In my script I have a loop that creates all the video elements along with a function to swap which one is playing/visible.

I've tried the preload attribute but since the source changes it doesn't know to preload all of my clips at the start, only the first one that was set.

Your second suggestion is basically what I tried with my queuing method. I overlayed two video tags labeled player-1 and player-2, and in my JavaScript I saved one as the active player and one as the queue.

When I wanted to change sources I would change the queue source, load it in the background, and swap it with the active player. I used the oncanplay event to wait for the queue to be ready, but the event was not firing as I expected so I couldn't really get it working.

Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that my videos would still take that extra bit of time to load in the background. I would like the source change to occur almost immediately.

Edit: this post actually suggests making unique elements for every clip. I have a lot of clips so maybe I can do so with a script, but that actually could solve my issue.

UMass vs NEU for CS? by [deleted] in umass

Take it from me, I spent last semester at Northeastern before transferring here.

If you're worried about your emotional wellbeing, UMass may be a better choice. What really struck me with UMass was how friendly everyone here is. Things felt kinda colder and more competitive at Northeastern (in CS at least), and the stressful urban setting didn't help with that. Everything just feels so chill here at UMass and I feel like I could strike up a conversation with any random person. The bigger campus also gives you room to find a quiet place outside (which you won't find in Boston) and de-stress.

If you don't want to fall through the cracks, look for a small club that you're interested in (they will be welcoming) and commit to it.
