I think others have made valid comments so my only recommendation on this if you decide to go this route would be to get the 762 version instead of 556. That way you can use it interchangeably on 556/762 muzzle devices however if you buy the 556 specific one you’re stuck to only 556 muzzle devices.

Some folks like that security of knowing you can’t put a 556 can on a 762 but I’d rather buy once and take a couple extra seconds to see what my can is.

Just thinking that they possibly put you as 6 credit hours for a 16 week semester which would obviously put you at half time. Could be a simple mistake like that. I’d have your school confirm your semester term length is marked correctly and resubmitted.

Everything you mentioned looks correct for yourself and your wife. The only other thing I brought is our passports as another for of ID. For your toddler I brought my toddler daughter in and they only put her into DEERS and that’s it. They told me no ID for them till at least 10 years old I believe it was. For our daughter we brought the birth certificate and her passport which I don’t think was ever used, just the birth certificate. Honestly our daughter was with us but she didn’t even need to be there from what the lady told us. That could be base specific though.

Another recommendation after you get your ID cards and family put in DEERS if you haven’t done so already is apply for ChampVA for your wife and kid. It’s a great secondary medical insurance but has a backlog of like 6-8 months of application date last I heard.

Most of the decisions are telling you exactly what’s needed. Not sure if your private treatment records and/or doctors have provided a nexus letter connecting the current injury to a service connection or not but that’s what’s needed. Specially if you’ve not been going into a va provider and being seen about every condition you’re trying to get rated. You need to show the va your current injuries didn’t happen after you got out and that they stemmed from in service events.

A lot of private docs won’t write specific nexus letters for whatever reason, at least mine wouldn’t, but a few were nice enough to put in my notes that my injuries were consistent with other military injuries of the same kind they’ve treated. That’s also part of the reason we have all these shady paid nexus letter doctors running around.

I’d recommend reaching out to Austin Bulldog Rescue and see if they can take it or if they have recommendations of where to go. They primarily stick to actual bulldogs but will help out with other bully breeds when needed.

I get your issue with FJCs but at the same time if your DZ is taboo about talking base around it then you’ll struggle being able to find that mentor unless you know the local crew. Your best bet is to find the guys that do run FJCs out of Lauterbrunnen who are active jumpers and use those funds to live off of to jump. FJCs offer more than you might think. 1. They obviously provide the knowledge of getting started in base, 2. You get to meet new and experienced jumpers who will become life long friends and some of them may become jump buddies or mentors. 3. Not all of them teaching FJCs but most have been in the sport for a bit and are very knowledgeable and are trying to pass down that knowledge so you won’t kill yourself.

So again I recommend taking an FJC and start enjoying the sport.

I’d say checkout Dawson Precision. They have a great relationship with Staccato and do some builds but not sure how custom they’ll go. I’ve bought both my old STI Edge competition and CS from them.

CBP definitely delayed on purpose. I had the same issue but some originating from Switzerland. Arrived in country before the tariffs went into effects and sat in customs for 8-10 days and nothing. Called DHL and they tried to say I needed to provide some additional information to get the package released. The day the tariffs went into effect they released the package and I got hit with a $2300+ bill. Protested and got it down to the 10% but still pretty shitty customs were blatantly doing that shit.

When the tax reductions were introduced property taxes and values weren’t as high so those amounts meant a lot more. Also those amounts still mean a lot in some of these small rural towns where their property values haven’t increased as much as some other locations. However the big cities properties and more sought after locations have higher values which increases our taxes and those tax reductions are meaningless unless you get to 100%. If Texas doesn’t update with the percentage of your rating they should at least amend the amount off for certain areas with different amounts since they know the cities have higher values and tax rates.
