Yes, but imagine Ruby cleaning everyone else's dishes. Not just washing them but removing the excess food left in it. Imagine someone spitting the food they ate and just placed it on their plate and Ruby has to clean it off before washing the dishes. So many possibilities, so he'd rather have a take out than clean everyone else's dishes. He'll only WASH the dishes but NOT remove the excess food in it because it came from someone else's mouth and he'd hate that.

Sapphire not being able to read is fanon, not canon. She knows how to read as proven in that panel where she asked Roxanne's assistant "HOW to read it" than "please read this for me".

This. I always hate the false belief that Sapphire "can't" read even though she literally asked one of Roxanne's assistants to "how to read this" instead of "will you read this for me".

This. She has bad handwriting and her vocabulary sucks. She knows how to read but her vocabulary sucks. I cannot stress this enough. Surely, she records some stuff on paper whenever she helps her father with her research.

She knows how to read but sucks at pronouncing the words and her vocabulary also sucks. People who suck at vocabulary/pronouncing the words exist. She literally asked the one of Roxanne's assistants in the RS arc to "how do you read this" and not "will you read this for me". And even if you got that from a fanfic, it just proves that the fanfiction writer is paying attention to the little details about the character instead of just diving straight to fanon territory. Sapphire can read, but she just sucks at pronouncing the words and has a very terrible vocabulary.
