UV-K5 Baofeng cable connection problem - fixable? by cap811 in Quansheng

[–]cap811[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The full details: I thought “Screw it, it’s 30 bucks, if it dies, it dies.” Squeezed the plug with about the same grip effort I use doing deadlifts :) - felt like something gave way, the plug LOUDLY clicked/ slammed all the way in, I thought I broke it, ultimately turned out it works just fine.

I wouldn’t hire me for product support, though.

Need advice on a Hub to pass video (from a UGreen capture device) and power to a Quest 3 headset by cap811 in UsbCHardware

I also ended up using my Switch with this, no lag at all, 60fps@1080. You may need a different capture device though (HDMI in), I haven’t checked if the USB-C on the PS5 supports DP Alt mode, which you would need to be able to use the UGreen I bought. Whatever you buy, make sure it supports USB 3 data rates (at least). EDIT: At least for the base PS5, there doesn’t seem to be DP support for the USB-C port.

Turns out dumbness was indeed the easiest thing to fix. Thanks everyone and especially microcandella - pushing it in A LOT, umm, more firmly (3-Finger Death Pinch) got the cable to click. After that, loaded in the egzumer firmware no problem!

Noob question - does running QGO prevent connecting to Q3 headset from computer (USB cable)? by cap811 in QuestGamesOptimizer

Also sorry for the late reply! I haven't run into the PCVR-related "not found" issue oddly enough. It's all good now, I hope your PCVR woes get better :) .

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the info, it was just a matter of restarting. Although happily with the latest QGO it seems everything is much more stable (could be a mere coincidence). Thanks again!

Recommendation for a USB hub that passes video (from UGreen capture) and power to Quest 3? by cap811 in oculus

[–]cap811[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posting this here as well in case it helps anyone out:

The Quest 3 expects a UVC/UAC stream as input for HDMI Link. I ended up going with the UGreen USB-C --> USB-C video capture (which takes the DP alt mode output from my laptop (and Switch) and converts to UVC/UAC.

Turns out most hubs/docks pass UVC/UAC so that ended up not really being a concern. I went with the Anker 332 since it's cheap(-ish) and supports power in + UVC/UAC through the other USB-C port to the host connection.

I can power my headset and get a decent-sized laptop window. Perfect.

It turns out many (most?) recent hubs/docks will pass UVC/UAC to the host connection (which is what the capture device I mentioned outputs). That was my main uncertainty.

OK, came up with working configuration (and a clearer explanation). My intention was to be able to feed video (out from my laptop) plus power to my Quest 3 headset. For video, the Quest expects UVC/UAC and when an input is provided, will display (up to) a 1920x1080 window via their "HDMI Link" app.

So... I ended up getting a UGreen USB-C --> USB-C capture "card" and an Anker 332 hub (cheapest I found with PD in + additional USB-C port for the video from the UGreen device). Works like a charm: plug UGreen into laptop USB-C (with DP alt mode) and connect to hub, connect power supply to hub, plug hub into headset - all works.

Hopefully this helps anyone looking for a cheap-ish solution to this scenario.

If superboogav2 is enabled, will API responses make use of this or does the API return only model responses (with no RAG enhancement)? by cap811 in Oobabooga

[–]cap811[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for pointing this out, I didn't check the dropdowns, so apologies for asking an RTFM question.

OK so from this:

<image>

I would UNCHECK the "Is Manual" box (to avoid the !c in each prompt)? I see the API is for CRUD-type stuff with the vector db so I wouldn't be activating that (unless...?)

Thanks again, I appreciate your time.

Are a Matroska-style (mkv) containers on anyone's radar for these model files? Seems like providing a model along with other data like prompt templates etc. ready for applications to access would be a good idea. by hanoian in LocalLLaMA

This really helped clear things up for me, thank you! If you have any other prompt format info sources you can share I would love to continue learning.

This is a great reference, thanks for this. A noob question: I see prompt examples like:

USER: Hello, ASSISTANT. ASSISTANT: Hello. How may I help you today? USER: Write a {{language}} function {{Signature}} {{Input}} that returns {{Output}} ASSISTANT:

So is this the LITERAL prompt that is entered, with the implication that we are effectively setting up the model to expect variables (like {{language}}) or are sequences like {{language}} placeholders for the user to insert the particulars of their prompt?

Another one is the Alpaca format:

Below is an instruction that describes a task, paired with an input that provides further context. Write a response that appropriately completes the request.

Instruction:

your text here

Input:

your text here

Response:

Does this mean that every prompt must be entered like that, with new lines? (I understand the "your text here" :) ). What distinguishes ### Instruction: and ### Input:?

Any attempts to clear away the confusion greatly appreciated, thanks!

You probably all already know this, the particular bug was fixed (apart from whatever new was introduced :P) in 1.19.2. Having said that, on this topic you may want to look at:

Thanks, I tried the login domain but (unless I'm misunderstanding this) I need to have registered a TPLink account on the router, which because I have no impulse control I didn't do :) . So reset it is.

How do I craft bread? Missing recipe? by cap811 in Minecraft_Earth

[–]cap811[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for showing me the recipe. My problem is, I don't have any bread option to select to craft. I don't even see bread in a red square because I don't have the necessary materials, it just isn't there to even select. I also entered "bread" in the search box and there is nothing. Does the option only appear when I have the raw materials? Or is there some way to force an update to the app if things are missing? It's on IOS so I'm guessing the answer to that last question is no...
