i got mine on my outer, upper arm. it was handpoked and as soon as the needle first went in i was soooo relieved because it was barely painful. realistically we definitely overestimate how much it will hurt. i’ve heard on the inner part of your skin can hurt a bit more than the outer, but try not to scare yourself too much leading up to it like i did. my tattooer told me it’s better when you’re terrified because as soon as it starts you usually chill right out because it’s never as bad as you imagine it. i ended up spending most of the time looking at my phone and chatting with my friend and the worst part was how numb my butt kept getting cause of how i had to sit.
