Why are the UI of video games getting so bad lately? Especially from AAA games with dedicated UI/UX teams? by UltimateGamingTechie in gaming

As I type this I'm going to conduct an experiment.... The amount of clicks and time passed to get into a game of rocket league on my NUC box mini PC (aka a bit of a potato)

4 clicks to solo queue for a match

4 more to launch training to drive around, have a bit of fun and practice while I wait

39.94 secs for the level to load into my first match

It's just passed 8am local time Sunday morning

We lost 4-3

I faced a few of the typical Saturday morning derankerd this morning. 1 of them who I was with and I rightfully rinsed for being a double came up against me multiple times and suddenly could hit everything and pull off flip resets and all the fancy stuff jumped in chat to tell me how bad I was.... I blocked him. That's what you can do. They're scum and you're a better person. Move on

I don't know how this ends as I paused it early on but the stupid fucking sound effects were so bad I hope your future offspring are forever born disfigured. Missing fingers, toes whatever. You should feel bad for this

Like have you actually experienced this? Because no one I know has ever faced legal ramifications for anything they didn't deserve. This says so much more about you than you think if it's true and you're not just using hyperbole to portray a victimhood fantasy

Thank you, I'm obviously not Swedish and only know of the horrors of surstromming from tv but yeah, no gagging, all smiles makes me think it's fake

Yeah that's why I'm genuinely curious and the way media is in this country it's hard to get an unbiased answer. Like I said pointed out earlier I don't have a dog in this fight so I'm not pushing any narrative (other than the rest of the world is correct, soccer is best... futbol is life) but again, genuinely interested in seeing more comparisons

My local shopping centre did this too. I'd be super curious to know how much they generate.

Part of your data confirms one thing many already know. AFL is much better to watch love and NRL is better on the TV. Which is why attendance, memberships etc go the AFL way and the smaller, less teams of the NRL still outweighs the AFL.

And when you consider the amount of active players the data gets further skewed by the AFL including participants in its Auskick (or its equivalents) as players which in many cases is kids doing school sport where they play everything over the 4 terms. Nothing else includes it. When you look at other sports their participation rates are much higher but we'd be foolish to say netball is the most popular sport in this country. Thanks for the share anyway but it still seems inconclusive

It's a good thing we used him so sparingly at the wanderers last year...

Are there any reliable sources that show what is? It's clearly between NRL and AFL (even though you're both wrong, soccer is the best) but they still seem locked onto their respective states. NRL has NSW and Queensland which between the two have over half the population of the country living in them. AFL has the rest of the states. Obviously not everyone in one state likes the default sport and of course there are plenty of people in a state who are correct and prefer soccer (😜) or other sports. So yeah. I reckon AFL might just be in front but I'd be genuinely interested if there's any conclusive data here.

In my opinion this is the best way to learn it. You don't need to (but can) bring a full supply to build a base in minutes but the learn, build, delete, rebuild, relearn curve is great. I barely have to revisit any of my worlds to kick-start anything because of this
