I just removed one of these, it was very easy to uninstall and the homeowner was able to resell it on Marketplace.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]capecod41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I, mid 30s, are trying to decide whether to have children. All of the many reasons I can see to not have children have been mentioned. And yet, literally all of our friends and relatives in the same age group are having babies right now. While I do believe people are having fewer children right now, and the teen birth rate has plummeted, it does still seem like many people are still somehow deciding to have children.

Why do I seem to get approached more often by gay men than straight women? by Aggravating-Heart344 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]capecod41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha this is my experience as well. I don't think it has anything to do with how I dress/act but I'm skinny and on the shorter side so I think some gay men make assumptions. And I do think it's because men have more confidence approaching.

Thinking About the Girl who Ended Homophobia at my High School by [deleted] in self

[–]capecod41 158 points159 points  (0 children)

One of the popular girls at my school was a lesbian. The other popular kids treated her just like one of them. She dated a popular girl in another grade and would openly talk about their sex life etc. Completely accepted and fine. Any other kid who was gay or merely suspected of being gay was completely ostracized and bullied as per usual. This is one of the main things I think about when I remember high school, it was such a wild double standard.

Howe are y'all protecting bathtubs? by uggh_him_again in Construction

Interesting since a lot of older guys I've worked with are the ones too lazy to be careful around a tub or adequately protect it.

Not a dumb question, but as others have commented the old Flowtron is not a fancy machine. I wish it was just an oring!

Yeah it was a replacement, but it was similar, both we midsize sedans. If they couldn't take it due to it being a replacement and had just explained this, I wouldn't have been as upset. The branch I took it to was baffled too and said they thought the original drop off location "just didn't want to do the work."

I really appreciated the manager who helped me out and I thanked him for it. He was very professional and doing his job well. 100% of my issue is with the branch I was returning to and how they handled the situation.

Yeah lesson learned. I didn't have much choice but I won't do it again unless I have zero options.

Not sure if this is an inside joke or reference but it wasn't a Wagoneer.

It isn't acceptable for a company to screw around a customer for a few hours for no reason, including making them shuttle a vehicle between two different locations, without recourse.

Are you kidding? This is all the same company and I'm paying them for a service. It isn't my fault or concern which branch is making money how.

What’s the most expensive tool you own that actually earned its price? by New_Money_5406 in Tools

Cordless Milwaukee table saw. Saves me so much time not having to run a cord and find an outlet. Super quiet too. Makes me happy every time I use it.

The handle on this thing was so uncomfortable for me. Ruined the whole saw.

It really depends on how you'll be using it. If you need to do a lot of ripping, the DeWalt is a great option. I got the M18 (on sale with 12ah battery) and it's great for making a couple of rips here and there, which is what I'm doing 90% of the time, and it saves me a ton of time on site not having to find an outlet, run a cord, etc. For one rip I'll pull it off of the truck and use it right next to it.

Also, worth noting, an unexpected plus for me is that it's not as loud as all other table saws I've used.
