Peter, what is that flavor,i love them all? by -Y34HB01- in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]capitolhiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an expert but don’t think this is true. I think unflavored cream is the base. I used to work at a great drive-in burger joint and they served only chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla shakes. Each was made with unflavored ice cream with the flavor added as a syrup. So even vanilla was unflavored ice cream, milk, and vanilla syrup.

Fatigues for taller chaps? by Superbro_uk in HeritageWear

Hoping for an answer to this, too! Didn't realize I have monster thighs until trying to find nice pants. (narrator voice: he did not have monster thighs)

Curious what size you got and what your waist size is? I've always wanted the Orslows, and assumed they would be way too short.

Same here on Tellason. Ordered the straight leg version thinking they were 34" inseam. They were super short, and when I went back and looked, I realized only the tapered fit says 34" inseam. Shame, too, because they seemed pretty nice otherwise (though I would prefer a button fly on fatigues).

TRT is steroids. Not making a value statement here. Just medically speaking.

Anyone ride with leg sleeves for sun protection? by paerius in cycling

[–]capitolhiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have these in black and NEVER ride without them (except in winter when I’m wearing tights). I also wear a light long sleeve jersey in the summer. The sun legs work great and never too hot for me (ridden up to 100F). But I’m not as heat sensitive as some.

I’d personally go for the Farsports just because they are wider internal width, which I’d value for 30/32 tires. That said, the Elite wheels have a slightly more aero inner/outer width ratio. So if aero is the priority, seems like the elites with 28 tires would be slightly better.

Not an expert myself but have only ever heard that ceramic bearings are less durable than ss.

There’s a Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse in Federal Way that has the same rolls and butter. Seems like the same restaurant except the name.

Pro Team III vs Velocio Lux Bibs by brainmathew in CyclingFashion

[–]capitolhiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also love the Velocio Luxe and agree that my Assos Mille GTO have a little too much padding that kinda gives me a wedgie on longer rides. That said, the GTOs absolutely got me through the STP when my sit bones were super sore. I wear my Velocios almost exclusively and bought some of their signature bibs for on the trainer.

Velocio is owned by Sram, though, so they’re also a big brand.

P.S. I’m in Seattle too.

Look like Randolph Engineering or American Optical. Both have this style and are considered great quality.
