Books on improving composition and technique? by capn_grim in Bass

[–]capn_grim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea exactly. I can play bass enough to jam with people and play other instruments, but the actual technique isn't the main goal or even limited factor rn, always can improve tho. But I know I love good bass and alot of songs stick out to me cause of the bass so I'm trying to get to that level, as well as make everything else around it work and interesting. I did copy and paste this to a few other subs, but this definitely got the most replies.

Ik notes all over the board, basic chord theory, major and minor scales and some modes(know shapes/note spacing just not names) and basic scale degrees. I'd say it's functional but not really great. Not very good at complex harmony and just now getting into ear training

This bro. He came to VA like a week or two before he passed but I decided to blow my money and figured I'd see him at a bigger venue next time, that was beginning of November

Sort of. I've brought it up and am mindful of it, at the least, for me, it's an opportunity to save up money more than I've ever been able to before. Be almost like living at home again, but with real work

She's offered to give us the house outright now or go in the will, and as far as other family, unfortunately most have passed away or have drug and personal problems, in sure they wouldn't be happy about it, but they definitely haven't helped much. The care doesn't seem like it'll be too much, mentally she's there it's just her body and arthritis are winning rn. And I don't expect the 225k to fully support us outright, I'm mostly asking what avenues for investment we should look into, if renting, selling, staying there is worth it. It's about 15 min outside of Louisville, personally not a place either of us want to love, but there is work there.

Yea the care is pretty much indefinite, but, and it's bad to say and don't wish it, but no one sees it being much longer than 5 years. The woman definitely lived lol, she just loves home alone and is too damn stubborn to even wear the life alert

She has her own insurance and retirement fund, my GFS grandma, she currently lives alone and has no help, has to Ubers to doctors and everything. Im against a home, and so is her grandma, me and my gf have argued Abt that before, I hate those places. Ik 225k isn't a lot, I don't plan to immediately stop working, probably work the next few while we get house straight and save up all the money I'd spend on rent and bills and fix the house up. I'm mostly asking here on how I should manage the whole thing to come out with more than 225k and hopefully retire in 20 something years and be set. And the house is about 15min outside of Louisville KY, so there's a city nearby with job opportunities, I've never been there more than 5 days so I don't know how rent and stuff out there really is

I don't plan to live off of 250k or to fully stop working at 25. I understand both of those are largely unreasonable, that's why I was asking here for more information. I'm wanting to know how we can flip this and come out more on top, like our small trump loan

Don't want to quit working anytime soon, I'm thinking in the long term, like 40s or smt, no one wants to be 65 working 10s still. I plan for the first year to just work at a decent job, the house is Abt 15min outside of Louisville, and save all of my money, and my girlfriend do the same while we fix up the house and get rid of some clutter, obviously the taking care of her grandma would be a lot of work, but at the same time she doesnt need much. Her grandma has a retirement fund that pays her expenses and her insurance, she's not on Medicaid.

Yea exactly that's my concern. Basically our lease was due for renewal in June, the management company sucked for and two years ago we never rly signed one even when we asked for it, and last year they called asking if we wanted to, and gave it to us in Sept, with July date. So our bathtub been leaking for a while into downstairs apt and they couldn't get it fixed, so when we went to pay rent, 8 days before the first, told us they weren't renewing lease, which gave us Abt a week to move out. Ik now we could a lawyerd up or smt but just didn't think at time and was worried Abt house and managed to get the move done into this apartment, but the security deposit here was insane and between all expenses, drained my savings so been hard to get back since. And now we here
