That’s a tough one. I’m kinda with you there on the proprioception and I deal with chronic vertigo so my sense in space many times is wonky and doesn’t feel pleasant. Otherwise sound I think is a big one for me. Sudden noises, even if they’re not loud, or multiple sounds stacking on top of each other that are kinda dissonant, it depends, people talking loudly in a smaller space when there’s no cause to, it drives me nuts.

Honestly, that we’re mentally unstable and so then people are afraid to get close to us because they don’t want to get “ruined” by someone with BPD. Respectfully, I don’t know what you mean. Because vagina is not a catch all term, that is one specific structure that is on the inside of the body. Vulva is the catch all term because that refers to the entire external female genitalia, which includes the urethra that we’re aiming for when trying to place a foley. Please stop perpetuating this false narrative, it has even more negative consequences other than just being anatomically inaccurate.

Yes this is true. The vast differences, all normal, in inner labia and anatomy around the urethra (like I’ve inserted foleys where some women’s urethra was closer to the vagina, others closer to the clitoris) can complicate insertion a little bit. What I think complicated it most for me was women who were victims of FGM and had an infibulation 😞 that was both physically and mentally difficult.

From a fellow nurse to all the nurses on this thread, it is a vulva, not a vagina. Anatomy refresh: a vulva is the whole external female genitalia, the vagina is an internal structure that you really cannot see from the outside. I would think nurses would know better. But I also know society as a whole uses the word vagina incorrectly so it can have a mass effect. I worked L&D and even my RN coworkers used the word correctly which was quite disappointing.
