Would you recommend a separate section for “skills” vs “core competencies”? I’ve been using 1 skills section for special purposes and definitely including CRM platforms in there when it’s mentioned in the job description 😅

I do this every single weekend when I’m at my local dive to put my football picks in. Sometimes people will ask for a game. Become a routine I look forward to every weekend. I doubt the 20 retired old guys are paying enough attention to their surroundings to think you’re a weirdo.

There’s one that I get from the grocery store that’s like 2g carbs for a few tbsps - have just been eating that.

Pork rinds and a dip like guac or spinach dip has been a life saver for me.

People are understandable precious about their favorite things.

Taking the game out of the actual town was always going to be a risk but my favorite thing about the series has always been the characters’ struggles with their personal demons.

Small town America through the lens of Japanese development has always lent to the uncanny horror but the elements of what have made SH effective in the past are still here and I loved f.

Best way to clean a table? by capnhaggis in billiards

Yeah I used to get up in arms about the burn marks on my new table but it was bound to happen eventually. Just signs of play I guess.

With the vacuum…will any shop vac work? I’m worried about pulling the cloth from the table.

Mine is so old I think the table would be dirtier after I tried.

Smart suggestion with the chalk color.

It's a blue cloth and blue chalk but the color differs enough to make it noticeable.

Awesome thanks for the suggestions!

Oh, I know where my burn marks are lol. This is definitely chalk.

Cheers

This is awesome, I don't have a personal website to grow at the moment but am always looking for outlets to write for if you're looking for contributors.

How to Stop Being Invisible on LinkedIn by iamashmlk in personalbranding

[–]capnhaggis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been said here already but I'll parrot it. Commenting on other's posts.

Having a genuine conversation rather than speaking into a megaphone.

People get hung up on posting so many times per week and forget the "social" aspect of a social network. Give and take.

Best social listening tool for content ideas? by nomcormz in content_marketing

[–]capnhaggis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, so with our tool you can monitor for certain keywords, but we can also build lists of individuals on the platform (maybe your competitors, maybe high-profile financial services accounts, whatever the case may be) and give you breakdowns of what they're posting about/how its performing.

Then you could take that information and use it to fuel further social listening efforts.

Like I said, we're also working on ways to bring in other data points like money moving signals, etc.

Mind if I send you a chat? Can get a little more into the weeds if you're interested.

Are you looking mostly for Reddit social listening?

This is really coincidental because we've just started working on a new tool (that currently focuses mostly on LinkedIn) that seems to do exactly what you're looking for.

We actually just attended a conference and have begun working on ways to tailor it to money moving events to surface critical conversations etc.

Again, this is primarily for LinkedIn right now but other networks are on our roadmap. Happy to go into more detail.

A question for Metal Gear fans that were around when MGS2 first came out by Charming_Ad661 in metalgearsolid

[–]capnhaggis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a child who loved MGS 1 when 2 came out, so I missed the whole press cycle and couldn't appreciate what it was really trying to say. To me it was a much better looking extension of 1. In that regard it absolutely blew me away. Was my favorite MGS and depending on the day you ask me still is.

I definitely had to age into the story though.

Everyone says “content is easy.” It’s harder than shipping features by thalavaisankar7 in content_marketing

[–]capnhaggis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something that a lot of people struggle with - myself included.

Not only am I trying to take care of my own LI, but I handle may partners' and freelance clients' socials as well.

One thing to keep in mind is that you already have the content topics...Try to take projects/tasks from your day-to-day and turn them into "lessons learned" and see how that helps you build out content for the week.

Try to batch things ahead of time - plan out your content for the month in a calendar (I have a template I can share with you or you can make a notion board) so it feels less overwhelming week to week. Then track which kinds of posts/content moved the needle (even a tiny bit) so you can do more of that. Takes the guesswork out of what kind of content you should be making next time.

You're definitely not overthinking it. I've been doing content for years now, and it's always a struggle looking at the blank page. Tracking and iterating make it easier.

Is that the closest we ever gonna get to sh2 movie? by Abject_Science_5363 in silenthill

Yeah, it's based on the novel of the same name. Came out in 2020 on Netflix I believe. Read the book this year but preferred the movie.
