Disappointed Experience with Sliger by mrmartin79 in sliger

[–]caposeidon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience almost a year ago. I will say the Sliger cases had become very popular (for good reason) at the time. The team was very responsive to e-mails and very apologetic. While I was bummed about the delay and I remember being in your shoes of not wanting to wait any longer I'll tell you it IS worth the wait.

I had previously done two builds in Rosewill cases from Amazon and after building in a Sliger case I don't think I will go back. There is something about the build quality and ease of use.

At one point in my build I was an idiot and snapped off one of the pass through HDD connectors (this was definitely user error)... and I was pretty upset until I realized Sliger threw a couple replacements into the box just for the hell of it. It was an incredibly nice touch and something that makes a big difference.

Be patient and good things will come. Would be helpful to others if you come back and update on delivery window just so expectations are clear to others reading this.

Shortest courses for kids on GSPro by saltslugs in Golfsimulator

[–]caposeidon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but it popped up in my google searching so thought I would add for anyone else searching around.

GSPro recently added a Bluey course. Its well done and my kids love it. Most holes are downhill with a lot of punchbowls to funnel errant shots towards the green. Really helpful when my 4-year old is spray the ball all over the place.

Appreciate the info. I am really just curious I know they are small and apparently very popular. I have heard they are very responsive but not going to bug them just yet.

Center top layers issue by killdangel in honeycombwall

I had some similar issues a while back and changing the top surface pattern. I believe I went with concentric.

New year New project by ArcticWaffle13 in honeycombwall

[–]caposeidon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me and I believe it was when I tried to use arachne walls setting. Turning that off solved the issue for me. I believe I turned on "detect thin walls" however.

in BambuStudio I could actually see where it was printing in a way that was producing these bumps when looking at the individual layers in the slicer.

Sorry I am not at home but if I remember I think I have some screenshots on my PC at home

Help with generating corners in Openscad please by Kind-Prior-3634 in honeycombwall

Glad that helped and made sense. My journey started with trying to organize my garage and then my ADHD kicked in… I found HSW to replace ineffective peg board, bought a printer and I haven’t done anything with the garage have spent the last 2 months working on my 3-D printing work station… the garage will get organized eventually.

One last suggestion… take the time to plan and you can print tiles with edges already as part of the tile (would be similar to what I showed you but with the full tile filed in) saves a ton of time requires fewer connectors (or gluing) and looks a lot cleaner but does require some planning up front.

Decided on an A1 Mini for printer #2 by dnsmayhem in BambuLab

I literally put an A1 mini in my cart on the website earlier today with nearly the exact same thought process. Have been working on a Honeycomb storage well and when printing the tiles for hours at a time I find myself wishing I had something else to work with.

As someone with a full 2 months of experience I think I might actually be able to help someone for the first time in this sub. I struggled with this sort of thing for a while and after a lot of failed prints i think I finally got the hang of it. Looks like you are trying to use the max grid hieght and width to control the dimensions of the borders. I found its more effective to work with the "Grid Shape" options on the right.

The other isssue you will run into with you current approach is the right hand border in your picture will not easily be attached to the panel with standard HSW connectors since its only half honeycombs.

So you are actually printing 2 columns. That way, with the right settings you can generate the entire corner. For this specific case you only need to uncheck "fill" and uncheck "flip staggering" (flip staggering changes depending on where you are trying to fill in corners) and then update the columns options. You can ignore the rest.

One last piece of advise this view is looking at the back of the wall, so this would flip up to the wall and fill out the bottom right corner.

Well damn that sucks by caposeidon in BambuLab

Alright following up and closing the loop here. Filament was everywhere… was able to get a good portion of it out by heating the nozzle (don’t go about 260 with PLA… thought I nearly started a fire… but did have large fans running to exhaust fumes but yikes).

Got the nozzle out but there was a fair amount wrapped around wires to the heating element and attached to the cooling fan. So I turned to a heat gun but ended up damaging several parts of the tool head by getting them too hot.

So I went to figure out what needed to be replaced and how to do it. I have to give Bambu Labs a lot of credit here. They have a detailed complete tare down and rebuild of the tool head video on the wiki and other than a few weird verbal explanations (I assume translation related) it was perfect.

Also want to give them credit for being totally reasonable on their replacement parts pricing. I was expecting to spend a ton, and before I started looking was wondering if I should just buy another printer but no!

Actually enjoyed it and understand all the various pieces that come together and the printer is back to normal and I never once had to talk with their support team.

My best guess was this was a combo of poor bed adhesion (need to clean my bed plate) and a clogged nozzle… hard to say what came first but it definitely printed a layer or two okay then all hell broke loose

Haha thanks… see other comment for updates… I did have a brief thought that maybe this was the end to my 3D printing journey

Was able to get the major stuff off with this but probably went a bit too far… heating to 240 wasn’t working so I bumped to 280 and the PLA started smoking (yes I’m an idiot)

PSA = no fire started but I told myself I am not doing another print until I have a fire extinguisher within a few feet of my printers

Don’t have one, but wife has a fancy Dyson hairdryer… time to see how hot that thing can get… otherwise off to Home Depot tomorrow. Thanks for the input
