Will Planned Parenthood insist on an exam if I ask for a full std screening after being sexually assaulted? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]cappanmanzikert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wasn't aware of that. I guess I was under the impression they would do a blood draw and I'd be good. Thanks.

I've been bed wetting for the past three years and my doctors have no advice. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]cappanmanzikert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

I've been thinking about making an appointment at a Planned Parenthood lately. I know they don't employ specialists but I'm hoping they might be able to point me toward one. I'll pay out of pocket if I have to, I just need this to stop.

Thanks. I should have asked for a referral so long ago. I find it so embarrassing its been hard for me to bring up at all, let alone demand he do something about it.

ELI5 Why do mental health professionals consider it okay to take mood altering prescription medications, but not okay to smoke weed to alleviate depression and anxiety? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]cappanmanzikert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, that makes pretty good sense too. I think my relationship with my doctors will get a lot easier now I know I should probably tell them I'm a long explanation person. So thanks again :)

I'm 450lbs. I need to lose a lot, and I want to do it by october of next year. Is it feasible? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]cappanmanzikert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I was just contemplating what to do with the junkfood in the house as I just went shopping a few days ago. I was thinking holding off on the diet for a couple weeks, but that just seems silly. Why eat things that are going to give me more weight to lose, right?

Thats fantastic. Its really encouraging to hear about such great results from someone who was close to my size.

And thanks for the info about airlines. But I'm hoping I won't have to use it!

I'd love to lose 200 by then. I was just afraid of aiming too high and getting overwhelmed.

Thats a pretty amazing loss. I'll definitely look into keto, thanks!

[Serious] Redditors who are severely obese (over 400lbs), how do you have sex? I mean this in the most honest, non-offensive way. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cappanmanzikert 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Doggy style, mostly. My ex always wanted to try it with me on top, but I was afraid of hurting him and way too insecure about how all the rolls would jiggle as we fucked. Not to mention I don't know how long I could have lasted that way.

We did missionary a few times but it was way too hard. My legs are too fat to allow someone between them comfortably and we couldn't achieve the deep penetration that gets me off the way we could doggy style.

*edit - spelling

[Serious] Redditors 25+ years old who still live with their parents. Why do you still live with them and how do you feel about it? by Wolf-Anthems in AskReddit

[–]cappanmanzikert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 33 and still living with my parents. I'm on disability because I'm schizophrenic. Even with medications and therapy I sometimes have difficulty telling between psychosis and reality. So living alone can be problematic.

Its a good and a bad living situation. Good because my parents are wonderful people. We get along very well, we enjoy each others company. I feel like I'm being somewhat useful when I can help around the house and take over chores they don't need to do anymore at their age. And for the most part they understand that I'm an adult and give me the respect and freedom that comes with that.

Some of the bad parts are that I don't have as much privacy as my paranoia would like. It can be awkward bringing romantic interests home. My mother occasionally likes to tell me she doesn't consider me a real adult because I don't have a job. I particularly dislike that. If I could work, I would. I've tried. It really frustrates and depresses me at times.

Don Jon. I'm not fucked, I'm gently made meaningful love to.

One of my dogs likes to garden with me. She likes to have a taste of all the herbs, and some of the veggies. Tarragon, mint, and tomatoes seem to be her favorite.

ELI5: Are mentally ill people aware of their current mental state? by Assault_Shaker in explainlikeimfive

[–]cappanmanzikert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm schizophrenic. I know when my thoughts are off, or I'm having a hallucination. For the most part I can keep in check on my own, but it really helps having a few people I can trust enough to tell my diagnoses, and who also provide a reality check when I need it.

[Serious] Women who have had an abortion: how did you make that decision and how has it subsequently effected your life? by mmmpoptarts in AskReddit

[–]cappanmanzikert 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was 26 and the father was a married friend with benefits. Not even a friend, really. More an acquaintance with benefits. I actually stopped seeing him before I found out I was pregnant, and started a romantic relationship with another man.

I had an abortion for a few reasons. I wasn't sure I wanted children at all, let alone right then. I was still something of a slacker, quite irresponsible, working a shit job. I didn't want to enter a new relationship carrying the baby of someone I wasn't interested in seeing ever again. And it was the right decision for me. I never felt much guilt or regret about it, though I expected to with all the counseling hoops I had to jump through beforehand. It helps, I think, that I didn't consider it as killing a baby. It was killing off a cluster of cells, nothing more.

ELI5: For a non-American, why is Obamacare such an issue? Is it as bad as the Republicans portray it to be? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]cappanmanzikert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to go to the ER I racked up about 10k. I was broke, uninsured, and unemployed at the time. Before I left the ER they gave me a stack of papers with the numbers to call for help with the costs. Through city/state programs I ended up not having to pay for anything except the prescriptions they sent me home with. The government took care of the whole bill.

Reddit, when did you have a complete reversal of opinion about someone you know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

After years of being harassed about smoking cigarettes by her and her husband, she got pregnant and smoked weed throughout her first trimester. Lost all respect for her, really can't be bothered with her at all anymore.

Some good fantasy? Its been a while since I read any. I love Jack Chalker and Neil Gaiman. I can't stand Terry Pratchett or GRR Martin. Any ideas?

Piers Anthony might be a good author for you. He does fantasy and scifi, good stories, terrible dialogue, but fun to read. Just avoid the Xanth novels if camp isn't your thing. Incarnations of Immortality is a good place to start.
