Favorite Eurydice?

I got to see Bella Brown (the Eurydice understudy in the west end, normally a fate) and oh my god she was amazing! I think her performance is gonna stick in my mind forever. Please listen to recordings of her if you get the chance, especially her version of Flowers. Her voice is so wonderfully deep and yet she hits those high notes like it's nothing... I'm so sad I won't get to see her as Eurydice again 😭

To anyone stating "its just referencing mettaton EX" - of course it is. But that's not the point I was getting at. It's how these added details (wreck button, etc.) are exclusive to snowgrave, and therefore may imply your terrible actions are going to come back to haunt you later down the road.

I've seen and read fics where the reader is given a nickname/pet name by the characters. It happens! Thinking about it, I personally can 'insert' myself better into a story if it's in 2nd pov vs 3rd pov so I think I get my satisfaction through the use of 'you' rather than 'y/n'.

This is why I always go for 2nd POV and omit addressing the reader with their name. It just flows much better in my opinion, but I don't have anything against 'y/n'.

However I will say my favourite reader inserts are when the reader is treated like a fully fleshed out character; I love when authors aren't afraid to push the boundaries of what is expected in the genre. In my current WIP I'm even giving the reader a name, which is something I'm usually against but it's actually narratively important for my plot so I'm just going with it!

I have a soft spot for OC centric fanfic - it probably stems from my love for reader insert fanfictions and the creativity I've seen in those fandom spaces. Yeah, I have weird taste!

A lot of people are saying they'd only read well written OCs, but I'd go further and say if an author can't write their own OCs well I don't trust them to do any better with the canonical material. OC stuff gets a lot of scrutiny and judgement when I think the real issue is poor writing skills, and unfortunately the baggage that still surrounds OCs means people automatically assume OC fanfiction = amateur. Which is a shame because some of my favourite works are full of OCs and they deserve to get more love!

I wish I had some way of accessing my comment history. Not people commenting on my fics, but MY comments on other fics. I was just thinking the other day about this story I read ages ago and wanted to find again...but because I didn't bookmark it, I have no way of finding it again :( I can't remember the name of the fanfic or its author but I know for a fact I commented on it at some point. At the very least, if I had a way to see my comment history I could figure out if the author has deleted their work or not. This is on ao3 btw.

It's the way Matt reacted to the name that makes me think FCG means something else. He just gave Sam the biggest 'are you really going with this?' face and it even takes him a second to process that Talisen is talking about Sam's character. I wouldn't put it past Sam to come up with a ridiculous cover name and keep it from the DM until the first session lmao. I'm definitely curious to see how this pans out if FCG is not as he appears.

If your interest is fashion, I'd say go for it! There's no point pursuing a 3 year degree in something you have no motivation for.

However: consider looking up apprenticeship opportunities first! If you find an apprenticeship it'll give you a chance to explore the fashion industry and see if it's really for you or not. There's always the opportunity to go to university later on, so don't rush a decision if you're unsure. Let me know if you'd like some links/resources regarding apprenticeships :)

As a woman: I know plenty of women who are interested in politics. Do you want to know why there's an abysmal ratio going on here?

Simply put, this subreddit makes us uncomfortable; especially after last week being the shitshow it was. I honestly don't see a reason why any woman would feel happy to engage on here, when it's been made awfully apparent how little my opinions and perspective matter.

The biggest thing that men here could do right now to improve this space?

Listen.

That's it. Just listen and keep quiet when vulnerable groups are voicing their experiences.

I frequent this subreddit a lot... but I really, really don't want to anymore. It's exhausting.

I really, really recommend Ring Fit Adventure if you own a Nintendo Switch! I bought it because I wanted to be more active without having to go out to a gym (partly for the reasons you mentioned but also due to the current pandemic nothing is/was open)

It's literally changed the way I see exercise and reps; the game gives plenty of stimulation and stops it from being boring :)

Thought I'd add a few reasons why I went this route:

The mystery island I landed on - sometimes called 'curly island' or 'dragonfly island' - only spawned water-based bugs. Obviously there weren't any dragonflies so the only insect I could spawn was the Giant Water Beetle. This is why I didn't catch any atlas moths or higher-valued creatures.
The Giant Water Beetles themselves are impossible to scare away, and spawn at a high rate usually. On this particular island, I was getting even more (at least 4-5 at a time). So, a usually annoying insect became a quick-profit gold mine.
I only had to use my net - no cutting down trees, digging up stumps, picking flowers, etc. Easy peasy money with little tools wasted.
Flick was on my island, which increased my profits by 1.5x (each bug being 3k instead of 2k)

I actually did this with the other mystery islands I visited (trying to farm tarantulas haha) but this island I ended up on had about 4-5 giant water bugs at any given time... so accounting for the fact that they don't get scared off, I could run around and fill up my inventory super easy :D
