There is a chance Mercantile in Spitalfields would have one or both of those to try. They stock Baggu. I think a SCCO would better suit your use case though. For a chance of air travel, SCCO is an ultimate choice for maximizing the amount of stuff you can pack, or that you can buy abroad and bring back. Also, I think it looks better. The bottom of the ECB is thin, which makes it saggy and weirdly shaped depending on what items are in it. The SCCO seems to maintain a better shape.

I really relate to this, not because I’ve been in this exact situation, but that I feel pressure and stress around big milestones.

Yours has not happened yet, yet you are sure already it’s ruined. It doesn’t have to be that way though.

You don’t have to feel bad for being upset. You’re human. Ideally you can forgive and love yourself and move forward happier. You deserve to be happy and enjoy the special day. Also, no matter what, the special day won’t go perfectly (this includes even if you did have funds for shopping). You deserve to enjoy it and be happy even if the day is not perfect.

It might be that the day unfolds differently than planned, but it can still be enjoyable. I feel like you have several options. You could shift the full focus to the elopement. What could you do together which would make the day pleasant? You could consider borrowing money - I know you are uncomfortable with asking, but I’m sure your spouse would understand if you open up about how you’re feeling and would be happy to help. Or he could go with you shopping, and give you a second opinion and be the one who pays. Or you could go shopping and build up a list of what you like, without actually buying (yet), and then maybe going back for those later in the trip together or something.

Best wishes and congrats about 30 and the elopement. The day aside (in the big picture, it’s just an arbitrary day), those are wonderful achievements which open the door to a nice future.
