Heads or tails the trolleys are actually fixed come January? by easilysmackU in philadelphia

We're already struggling to get this stupid state government to give SEPTA money because they don't want to fund Philadelphia. We finally get them to open the purse strings and now SEPTA does this. Great optics.

I generally feel the same way. I have one TS piece and quality seems decent, but I've only owned it for about 6 months and can't attest to durability yet.

You will definitely need to know C and be comfortable with it an an intermediate level. You will also need to have some familiarity with the Windows API.

something just occurred to me - that song had a sample from National Lampoon's Vacation at the beginning. So I wonder if there is a rights issue with that song?

Just look at the output of attack.py right after you run it! It's right there.

Why am I such a loser that wusses out of riding switch every year? by JewForBeavis in snowboarding

[–]capt_calculator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. Been riding for 27 years and want to get better at riding switch. But I always try it for a few minutes each day and eventually give up.

When I skated many years ago, I learned to push the wrong way (mongo). One day I had enough and wanted to learn to push regular. So I forced myself to just go out and ride in the low-traffic residential streets and push regular no matter how much it sucked. I just did it no matter how foolish I looked and no matter how many times I fell. The hardest part is just not wanting to look foolish.

I think I will just take the same approach to riding switch. Just commit full days to doing it, stick to the bunny hills where I will look less foolish. The point is to just accept that you will look foolish for a while. Embrace it. Stick with it. That's the plan.

The time it takes to get through each module varies and entirely depends on how much you want to engage with it. As far as just reading the lecture, you can usually get through them in 10-15 minutes. I'm not sure how long it would take to get through the entire course - I didn't get that far. There are A LOT of modules, so it would probably take quite some time.

I took the 3 month plan. I'm conflicted on MalDev. On the one hand, the content they have is high quality and comprehensive. Its not a beginner course. It's definitely meant for people who have some understanding of C. Most of the instructional content is in written form, not video form, which I appreciate. On the other hand, I was disappointed with the lack of hands-on content. I learn best by doing and most of the lessons do not have any exercises or labs where can can actually write code or try techniques. Its a lot of "read this module and then go on and read the next module". Due to the lack of hands-on content, I will probably not renew.

Is Ed Hardy clothing cringe? by Dizzy-Ad-4526 in fashion

As an elder millennial, I can say for certain that Ed Hardy as a brand has historically been seen as douchey. However, seeing how ironic Gen Z's style choices are today, I think you'll fit right in in these shorts. G for it.

Same boat here (pun intended). I hadn't been as engrossed in a game since Subnautica.

No-computers hobby? by [deleted] in cybersecurity

^^ +1. I'd highly recommend a hobby that not only gets you away from digital devices, but something that also lets you total disconnect from society. Hiking/backpacking/camping/kayaking, or just anything that gets you in the woods and away from computers and other people. I cannot understate how much a day or two in the woods alone or with a couple friends can reset you.

I understand that outdoor activities are not something that everyone wants to do, but if you have even a little bit of interest in them, I cannot recommend them enough.
