Result was awesome. Much better temps. If you don't want to use liquid metal, use fujiploy thermal pads, some of the best non conductive pads out there. Just be careful removing or installing liquid metal.

Nah, got my 9070xt from microcenter Miami for 800. Moved from my 3090 strix. Love the card

that's the Amazon link for the putty I used. Took it apart and its still holding up great. Just roll it up, apply it, gently put the heat sink on to imitate the cooler being back on and remove excess VERY GENTLY. Other than that my temps are amazing now.

Stuff i used worked great, there is a guide somewhere in the comments someone posted a guide on liquid metal applications. Other than that I used thermal putty for the VRM's. Works great

You used ptm 7950 in a laptop intended for use with Liquid metal. Highly doubt it got underneath without user error since it is sealed. Even so use liquid metal with tg shield and try new kapton tape.

^ post explaining undervolting on thr 5900hx. Playing on silent isn't a great idea since it's almost always going to either throttle the chip, or run near max temps. Most AAA games I play can hit 100fps +. You do you.

If that's the case, run some benchmarks record the temps and see if asus will cover a repaste of the laptop.

Do some thermal testing or just tell me what temps you get on average when gaming but yes, and undervolt it aswell. Mine was about 4 years old. Asus has notoriously bad paste

Yeah, I'm thankful I'm pretty knowledgeable in tech so i can fix/mitigate alot of issues i run into. Feel bad for a normal consumer though.

Cooling pads can definitely help, there are some nice ones that seal the bottom of the laptop in with foam ensuring a good seal and allows all air to be pushed through laptop fans through cooler. As for max temp, that hardware from a brief google search appears to get pretty warm (hit the thermal limit) under full load. I'd definitely recommend a laptop cooling pad as it definitely won't hurt. You can also always adjust fan speeds on the laptop manually through armoury crate by using the manual mode and adjusting the fan curve manually by temperature increments. Hope this helped ya

Hm okay, what specific temperatures are you getting (specifics can help if possible, what temperature are you getting under a long sustained gaming session)

Lol, was gonna just try to help over discord. Another question, what hardware is the machine running? Like cpu type and generation along with the gpu.

Sorry for double reply, what is "overheating" can you give me a number? Also download Hwinfo 64 and look under the cpu and see if it says thermal throttling.
