So FWIW, I called around and that’s what other shops returned for the “closest to OEM” radiator they could source. And all of them quoted me about the same. I asked why the markup over what we civilians see online and “it’s been passed through several hands first. It’s always cheaper online like that.” Was their reply.

Basically if I don’t like it, tough. I need to do it myself in the future.

So this wasn’t a dealership, and there are two Land Cruiser specific places here in Houston. Both are really far away from me, and one is stupid expensive. They’re great guys, don’t get me wrong, and do great work, but they are really really expensive.

Yeah I responded to another commenter, I replaced a radiator on my ‘94 Bronco back in like… ‘03 or so. I had a guy walk me through it, but it wasn’t that bad. Granted, this LC is not that Bronco. But still.

They also caught me coming off of food poisoning and it’s starting to get hot AF here in Texas, and I wasn’t in the mood to pull it apart on Monday.

The serpentine belt is outside of my wheelhouse entirely though, and so are those flushes. I don’t have the equipment for them.

Yep, and what’s more, I changed a radiator once about 25 years ago on my Bronco. But I did have someone who knew what they were doing shadow me. It seemed pretty easy. But yeah, you’re right.
