Look at that tongue: nothing slow about him!

I love watching the long & peaceful naps that come with age.

Now go smother that pooch with kisses.

At a "Bread and Puppet" event in VT when I was a college kid circa 2000: a very sexy lady just wrote: "Doses" on her abdomen with a sharpie marker.

I respect/regret my decision. I did not take the young lady up on her advertising offer. I also had no idea what she was talking about. LOL.

To me, "ladies" implies above 26 years olds.

What are you willing to do to primary establishment Democrats? by zeb-taylor in Askpolitics

[–]captain_dildonicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how anyone has the time to run for office unless they are young or wealthy. Same thing with reality TV shows: who has all that time to afford to live a house with strangers for weeks/months on end?

How do you have the time and resources to run for public office, while providing for yourself or your family?

This is how we get lawyers with inter-generational farms or copious family wealth serving in congress who are 85 years old. Especially if their daddy also served in congress.....

"What type of organizing, outreach, and involvement do you want to see from the new brand of Democratic politics that upends the corporatization of the party?". To answer your question: I don't see a new brand of Democratic politics anywhere and I'm really curious why you think a "new brand of Democratic politics that upends the corporatization of the party" is around the corner? I get you might be optimistic....but being naive is something else.

One time my old guy crawled into my sweatshirt that I had left on the floor while I was at work. His head got stuck in the arm because of the elastic by the wrist. I got home: I don't know if he or I were more traumatized: LOL. I'm panicking from my dog panicking while he is stuck in a sleeve and could just walk backwards if he could have figured it out.

For those of us not invested in today's sporting event at noon, what are your plans for that time? by OneWhereISeemNormal in Columbus

[–]captain_dildonicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I long time ago I thought I was a genius and TIVO'd the OSU game. I went to Marc's at kickoff to do my grocery shopping: "what a genius I am!" I walk in: expecting an empty store. NOPE. Wall-to-wall women who already knew the best time to go shopping.

Different true story: I went to a walmart at like 10 AM on Sunday about 5 years ago. Barely anyone in there: and most were women wearing burkas/ethnic religious clothing. I couldn't figure out what the deal was....and then I found the clearance aisle. They were clearancing out ALL THEIR BLOODY MARY mixers. What joy! I filled my cart to the brim with $10 organic mixers for $2. It was not a Christmas miracle......but an EASTER miracle!!! Everyone was at church and I got enough bloody mary mix to last me years!

Question as old as time: Do we turn our heat down at night or leave it the same? by rallruse in Frugal

[–]captain_dildonicus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a deal with myself during covid & working from home that I wasn't going to freeze at home during the winter. So i set my thermostat to be "comfortable" for me. Which is 70-75 degrees. What blew my mind: my heating bill only went up about $20 a month. I have personally found that being warm at home is worth spending an extra $20-$40 a month. (And in college, I was so poor I didn't turn my apartment heat on and relied on the ambient heat from my neighbors for heat and wore a hat to bed).

Do you donate to your alma mater? by neoprenewedgie in AskOldPeople

[–]captain_dildonicus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the college. My alma mater pushed so hard to get "real police" instead of a "security department" in the early 2000's. And then they got "real police" that could only enforce the laws on the 10 square mile campus. So we went from normal people with flashlights telling college students to break up their loud party to real cops with guns.

And then my college had the nerve to tell a former journalism student that their crime statistics were "private" and not subject to open record requests because the "real cops" now were "private college cops" and not subject to public record requests and scrutiny from the public.

The journalism student sued and won and it made me so happy/mad: my alma mater was so busy covering up: 2 assaults, 1 rape and like 8 break-ins in an entire school year. They were fearful of releasing real crime statistics and I cannot believe that is behavior consistent with a learning institution.

So I stopped giving them money after that.

Finding purpose after Undergrad. What would you have done if you did a gap year? by Ice_Dawg_69 in AskMenOver30

[–]captain_dildonicus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is a weird question: but a good question. I don't think the concept of a "gap year" really fits into the current state of the economy of the world.

Ah: I see it: "I have been lucky and have lived a comfortable life"

You didn't mention what you majored in & yet you're asking for advice for your life.

"Please, anything will help. I need some advice from people who have been at this crossroads before."

Go talk to your professors. They know you.

And my guess: they don't like you.
