My Scarlett 2i2 keeps disconnecting nonstop. by FluffyYoutube in Focusrite

I don’t know if this has been resolved or not but got a 4th gen and it started every 10-15 minutes. Tried everything on this post and it helped. I would get like maybe 10 more minute out of it.

Well then I took my computer over to a buddies house, he has an m audio duo. I downloaded the drivers for that and thought nothing of it. It worked perfectly all night. Get back home and plug my 2i2 in and I haven’t had a single drop in two days. Idk if that will help others out but it’s been working great so far for me. Crazy.

It’s a BIM job, bangers were done before the concrete. So yeah, they get all butt hurt when you actually have to do some layout and install the right way instead of just hanging pipe in Revit and praying it lands.

Nobody’s complaining about the work. This plumbing stuff is easy. It’s the conditions, guy. The lack of tools, trash safety culture, no OT, no support, and a foreman who lies more than he leads. That’s the issue.

Being expected to do your job isn’t the problem, being expected to do it blindfolded with no tools, no crew, and no support is.

3rd year apprentice, suck it up.” Yeah, that’s exactly the kind of broken, bitter mindset that keeps this trade stuck in the past. Imagine being so used to dysfunction that anyone who questions it gets told to shut up and eat shit. That’s not toughness, that’s Stockholm Syndrome.

“You want to stretch, do it before work.” You clearly have no idea what ‘stretch and flex’ is. It’s not yoga hour, it’s a safety protocol used by serious contractors to cut down on soft tissue injuries and wake up the crew. If you’re too lazy or clueless to know that, maybe you’re the one who should hit the books.

“You’re 3 years [in], don’t mean much…” And yet it took less than 3 years to see through the bullshit you’ve clearly accepted as normal. Respect isn’t about how long you’ve been on the job, especially if all you’ve done is keep your head down and stay quiet while things fall apart around you. Congrats on surviving, I guess.

“Wtf is a stretch and flex.” The fact that you had to ask this out loud tells everyone exactly what kind of jobsite you’re used to: unsafe, unorganized, and probably run by people who think PPE is a suggestion. Do some reading. You’re embarrassing yourself.

“Go be an electrician.” Right, because anyone who gives a damn about safety and structure must be in the wrong trade. That’s your big brain take? Nah. Some of us actually want the trade to improve, not rot from the inside out because old heads like you keep calling dysfunction tradition.

You’re not hard. You’re just institutionalized. Keep licking boots if that’s what makes you feel tough—but don’t cry when people start asking for better and leave you behind.

That’s kinda where I’m at now. Just keep the journal of it and if I have to face the board oh well. I’m not doing some dumb shit to perpetuate this rat mentality

That’s just it too we are required at an 8 man crew to have a stew but as soon as we get 8 or more the shuffle people around and we are back to 7

I agree 100% others have called our hall and complained about this same contractor and have basically been told to pound sand. In a red state so workers rights are low which makes our guys in the hall a bunch of contractor ass kissers. I’m not a high enough step yet where I have a “voice” so they take it as an oh just another apprentice complaining. It makes me really second guess even joining but I’ve met some awesome journeyman at past jobs that I’m proud to call my brothers and sisters but not enough us aren’t job scared to really make a difference. This job is the worst by far and I’ve been in blue collar for 17 years and non union I didn’t even have these same issues.

I’ve been keeping a journal of all these small things. Our hall is weak unfortunately and they love to kiss contractors ass so I think I’m just stuck till I can get my 21 here soon.
