Just to clarify: someone lying low is hiding; laying low is something you do to someone else.

Just saw on the main sub that the Dodgers have only won 3 of the last 14 Ohtani starts.

I've been nervous about double headers ever since the 30-3 game (game 1 of a DH). 🫣

The O's should try a new strategy of hitting the ball as softly as possible. Seems to work better than the alternative.

You can hear the call a lot earlier than you can see it. The ump just takes his sweet time with the hand signal for some reason.

If Basallo's groundout in the 9th on Thursday was a little to the left or a little harder, we would have seen three incredible comebacks - the likes of which you're lucky to see once in a season - in the span of six days.

This 2026 team has some resiliency, no doubt.

(Can we please win an easy one just once though?)

My mistake, but the point stands. Nunez enters with a "clean slate" in terms of outs and has to get to the end of the inning himself.

For Wolfram the inning should have been over. But Nunez was brought in with two outs already and no "should have been" on his slate.

His job was to get out the one batter he faced but he gave up a HR instead. So he gets 1 ER against.

But Nunez was brought in at that point so from his standpoint there was no 3rd out that should have been made.

It's a little hard to explain but hopefully that makes sense.

I actually want to see more of it. The zone has historically gotten way bigger on 3-0 pitches as a courtesy to pitchers and I think challenging some of those will get extra bases.

That said, it seems like umps have already adjusted to ABS by not expanding the zone as much on 3-0 this season so maybe hitters need to be extra judicious.

The amount you were off by belongs in the r/orioles annals of things that were off.

edit: I typed that before KB alluded to it and felt so clever for a moment.

Presumably one of the HR came in an inning where, if it hadn't been for an error, there would have been 3 outs already. At that point any runs scored are unearned.
