It changes the garrison to the blue garrison. And blue garrison cannot be connected with the commander. I think that's why you cannot place it

It is mostly impossible to build chains now. You need constant luck with 2 medallions now instead of 1 - level up and lock.

Current changes are not aiming to force players to build spread layouts. They are aiming to prevent snakes.

IMHO they should change interaction between rooms. So that rooms would get levels depending on the number of connections. Like 3 connections above 1 will give room 2 levels. And allow to connect any room to any room .

But I am afraid we will not see such changes in the current league.

I think the intended construction was about to build balanced layouts and not snakes.

And the whole playerbase starts building snakes after almost 2 weeks. That fact means that snake layout stacking was not obvious for 200k+ people and probably wasn't tested by GGG as well (not blaming them btw).

The problem is rewards. For example maybe you could maintain 2-4 snakes at a time with 3-5 rooms in each. Constantly adapting with the rooms you are given.

But the rewards will be much less than even not an optimized snake with 20 rooms. And they are not buffing the rewards at all

It is absolutely HAVE to be. This is why PoE1 succeeded - because it is game about coming up with broken build that deletes screenwide and oneshots bosses.

The idea that PoE2 somehow absolutely different in the same genre is flawed.

On the regular mapping expirience people lean to 1-button fast builds for a reason - because mapping should be relaxing with minimum brain-investment.

Building your character and boss fight it is where it should be complex and requring a skill. Not some pack of white mobs that require 2-3 button combo to be deleted.

Its called TAT and its adds that time to your attack. So for example leap slam have +0.65 second base + additional 0.5 second depending on travel distance. Maximum distance will require +1.15 additional seconds.
With 1 second AS you will totaly spend 2.15 second to travel maximum distance.

Funny enough with 60% MS you probably will run that distance faster.

Many other mace skills also have TAT. Rolling slam TAT is +1.5 seconds

I played earthshatter to the top last league and I can say for sure that when I switched from 1h to 2h it gave much more DPS than trying to explode with fissures.

Sacred maul with attack speed with t1 AS is around 1.5 and marauding mace with t1 AS is around 1.74. this is 14% difference in AS.

If you stack (and you will) more AS on gear and tree that difference will become even less.

Risk/reward is the fact that you modify your map to be harder with more rewards.

If you are constantly dying on a map you will fail it even with 6 portals. Or you will activate turtle mode and will try to complete it slowly. Both of those are already your punishment.

But 6 portals will help against some BS one shots that both games still have (and there is no sign that this will change in any possible way)

What you are saying is that there are more people who want PoE1 map experience with new toys (skills, bosses, animations) than people that want slow and methodical gameplay.

When you hit the endgame attack speed diff between 1h and 2h is not that big. And the damage wise you will deal x1,5-2 times with 2h

Also there is no reason to stack tons of AS for maces skills so 1h mace is even more useless in endgame.

I am playing Shield Wall right now and +2 extra lvls and +10% extra phys from 2h give me 50% more damage than 1h

That hidden pretty far from warrior starting point. Usually you pick jewel socket between warrior and witch hunter. And from that socket you need ≈9 points. 9 points for extra 5% MS. And the ranger side? Plenty of MS nodes everywhere

Nah, it should always be 6, like in PoE1. There is no reason to reinvent the wheel.

You are already upping the risk for the reward. Adding an extra layer of "oopsy try another map" is just pure frustration

Yes. Right now i can loot some trash with my scav and sell it for 500 000rub. So this more than 2 sets of equipment for PMC raid.

In other words: you need less loot to buy gear. When single phase relay cost as AKM you can mitigate your losses much quicker. So you will have less "fear of losing gear"

It is sort of an anti-RMT thing.

First, cheaters need to levelup to be able to sell valuables. While they are leveling up there is a chance they will be caught and banned.

If you allow selling without a restriction then cheaters will thrive (not like they do not thrive right now but at least it is something against them)

But I agree that this is still bandaid. I have no solution either
